  1. Nice save, very good example of a "glider" re-build.
  2. oh, forgot to mention, there is a facebook page on the t.v. series as well facebook.com/movin-on some very nice photos there as well. This just in, I found it:
  3. Hey Angelo, You might try an e-mail to Mr. Paul Sagehorn, he is the current owner of one of the actual rigs they used for filming and did the restoration on the truck (and quite beautifully I might add). I would consider he to be the best person to guide you. In the meantime: I can't find it right now, but I recall seeing a spec. sheet on the actual truck and the paint was listed as DuPont? metallic jade green (pretty sure the sheet even had the actual paint code number...I'll keep looking). In the mean time, I would suggest trying any of the automotive rattle cans of that color, should get you pretty close. Here's another thought on "pretty close", figure we've seen pictures and video of the actual truck in many different lighting conditions, in my eye, I don't think I'd ever be able to come up with an EXACT match, so close enough works for me. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your version soon. brinx
  4. JT, thanks for "bringing" us to the show. There sure are a lot of great models on display (love that big, orange rig!). I enjoyed browsing your albums, lots of great inspiration you've provided. Stay safe, brinx
  5. I'm with you guys, I would be good for a half dozen of either.....Round-2, you listening?
  6. Chris, might also try "Young" we had several in the two departments I was with. Most were Ford "C" cabs with a canopy added for the jump seats (transverse). One was a straight "C" with a 55' tele-sqirt ladder. The sqirt was about as stock a cab as you could get, automatic transmission and only two seats up front. Looking back (80's) we had a rule, if there were only 3 guys, either 2 guys had to ride the back step (driver alone in the cab) OR, the third guy would have to ride up front (sitting on the doghouse...all in the interest of safety....ah, simpler times
  7. Dark tinted (limo tint) windows can make the illusion of a window without having to worry about being actually transparent.
  8. I would think any of the vocational bodies from the kits would be successful as stand-alone kits.
  9. Looks really good JT...(as always), love the orange! great looking rig all around.
  10. Black oil paint from a tube can give a pretty realistic appearance as well. Another is a bit of (automotive) oil and some fine dirt, mix together like a paste and dab it on the fifth.
  11. 2nd trade complete with Doug Spencer Mr Mopar Everything as promised and well packaged. Looking forward to working with him again. (xref in the truck section as this was a truck trade).
  12. Trade completed with Doug Spencer Mr Mopar This is my second trade with him, and just like the first time...everything was as promised and well packaged. (xref. to the general traders section as well)
  13. Great looking double sleeper conversion Ken!
  14. Tom, looking forward to seeing your completed Cornflake wiggles, if anything like your previous rigs...they're gonna be "GRRRReat! (If I may quote Tony the Tiger..lol)
  15. Great looking rig Ray....nice work on the rear windows. I think the re-hab looks fantastic!
  16. If it helps, I will try to hide seams and such with paint schemes and accent stripes. I the case of the Freightliner, I did that on the sides and hid the roof seam with a drag foiler (oooh, that might be a GMC term...lol). brinx
  17. Received trade from deal with Casey. Everything was as described, well packaged and shipped fast. A GREAT guy to work with. brinx
  18. Mike, A good alternative is picking up a Revell snap Pete or KW (1/25) at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. They are really nice detail for a snap kit (the cab and sleeper are molded as one piece), the price with a 40% off coupon is around $15. I do like your paint work and color combo...looks pretty good. Welcome to the Interstate (or logging road as the case may be)
  19. Excellent pic Earl....I like how you did the support on the neck...I think with all the help on this thread from EVERYONE....I'm going to have a go at one of these this winter. Thanks guys!
  20. Meep Meep.....Kevin, You picked a pretty good kit to start out with, Like the brothers have already said, keep it simple, for the first one out and you'll be better able to see where you can easily make modifications on the next kit (I'm with JT...I like to do the first one box-stock as well) We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with and welcome to the interstate!
  21. Great looking little hauler, very nice weathering detail. Those mil-spec tires ought to handle those muddy junkyards with no trouble at all.
  22. Thanks you the great road idea guys, I'm going to pick some up as well. JT, I really like the GMC/Dumper...really looks cool with the double sleeper.
  23. Thanks for the great tips JT! Good Holidays
  24. Lookin' good JT, your driver looks happier having a good paying load on the skateboard.
  25. Great question Raildogg, something I have always wondered as well. Thanks for the pics Highway, I too have been thinking about a project like this as well.
