  1. @ rctruk, Jeff, your truck was the other one I was looking for to cite "inspirational credit" (along with Doug's version). I will say, for a 40ish year old tech tooling kit, these rigs do build quite nicely and rather quickly (working on a Diamond Reo day cab right now). brinx
  2. Thanks guys. JT, no orange on these guys (musta been my lighting...green, yellow and red (a real BRIGHT red) Jacobus, yes, you are indeed correct, this is a fuel fleet operating primarily in the US Northeast Mopar-D, yes, I have an AMT tanker...wrong style for what we're running up in this part of the county, but might give it a go anyway.
  3. Thanks guys... I've wanted to do one for quite some time (I've had the truck-em up graphics poster hanging in my shop for years). Instead of decals, I used the Pactra trim tape for all the stripes, love that stuff! The headache rack was actually to hide were my stripes didn't quite line-up on the back of the sleeper (lol)
  4. Guess I'm a "truck-nerd"... O/O was the first magazine I had a subscription to (I was 11 at the time...lol). Boy were my parents ever thrilled when I too the "bingo" card from the back, circled every single number and sent it in (mom still occasionally gets mail addressed to me, and that's been 30 years ago!) I also had a heck of a time figuring out how to affix the Owner Operators Assn sticker on my bike. I'd sometimes sneak a copy of Overdrive in to school (long as the cover pic wasn't too racy). brinx
  5. Made from the Revell snap kit (Man, I love those kits!)
  6. Western Star with Double Mercury sleeper. (inspired by Doug Long, aka Kodiak Island Modeler...after seeing his version of the W/WS with double Mercury)
  7. I've always loved the colors of this fleet.
  8. I like the box idea...excellent use of the old Kentucky moving van!
  9. ah go ahead, put the old Eagle sleeper on there...she'll look great! with it. nice frame graft too!
  10. Thanks Danno, I love these snap kits...nice detail and not so expensive that you're afraid to do some cutting and experimenting on them.
  11. A large LTL fleet was clearing out a few "test" rigs This little gem was picked up at auction for a song. The new owner is ready to work P&D for a fleet op. Maybe in the Texas area?
  12. JT, looks great! The driver did a nice tarp job. Good New Year, safe driving! brinx
  13. Fine looking 'Binder there JT. I especially like your fade paint job . I think the black and orange really work well with the chrome. Looks like this one might be the "fleet owner's" personal rig? (the boss should always have a few miles down in the old log book every once in a while brinx
  14. Looking good Jeff, as a DM600, this kit was pretty good. Glad to see you're getting her back on the road.
  15. Looking good so far Chris, I like the working suspension idea...I might have a go at something like that next time.
  16. I ran across this quite by accident the other day. Search youtube : Sam's Truck Movie ( I cant seem to figure out how to paste on these messages) What it is, is an hour+ look at Sam Peckenpah and specifically the movie CONVOY. There are interviews with Duck, Melissa and Lyle as well as some of the production staff. brinx
  17. Nice catch JT, makes for quite an inspiration. (course, it would look just a bit better in ORANGE...lol)
  18. Rudy, Suddenly, I want a (diet) Pepsi...nice build. You really got those big decals to lay down quite well! brinx
  19. Justin, looks like you hit that one right out of the park....very nice!
  20. Love the way you made the colors work so well together....looks great!
  21. Good start Tom, I have one that has been sitting in the box, sort of intimidating me....But, I will get it "on the road" someday soon.
  22. Justin, THAT is one sharp dragon-wagon. Very well done.
