  1. Great looking tater Chris. I like the way you incorporated the two-tone scheme onto the fenders.
  2. I agree, lots of great talent and encouragement can be found on sites like this one.
  3. Looks good Chuck. Very nice on the weathering and subtle color differences, really tricks the eye.
  4. Love it! I really like the way you put the colors together, really nice.
  5. Fantastic build Larry, you're Double Eagle really looks great. Good to hear you're on the mend

  8. Alan, one word......FANTASTIC!
  9. JT always as nicely equipped rigs for his drivers. I hear his drivers are also about the best compensated in the US (as are his contracted O/O's)
  10. Nice work JT..the sleeper looks solid, and the colors work for me!
  11. Sean, The colors look great! I also like the Elmer's trick....Going to give that one a try myself.
  12. Greg, what a fantastic conversion! The way you worked the Chevy cab into a cab-forward design, looks like something right out of the factory. I can totally see your design working for several low-profile, vocational applications. Very inspiring indeed. brinx
  13. I would LOVE to see more of the of the MPC/Ertl kits. I especially would love to see the vocational series IH's. As a kid, those kits just seemed to together so easily. I'd also be onboard for the General/Bison.
  14. Man! That is one fine lookin' hauler JT. I especially like they way you put the stripe decals to work, spot on. As for the load.. Bet a short wheel-based, race tractor (or puller tractor) would fit perfectly on the back. brinx
  15. Bradley, Looks very nice. I think your paint work is smooth and I like the shade you used. Your conservative use of decals works nicely (Give it the look of a long-range, fleet truck). As JT said, it can be a real trick to get the tires to seat properly on the rims, looks like you got yours together quite well. I've built 8-10 of this particular kit. The level of detail versus the lower price tag makes these kits prime for experimentation with customizing (they're quite east to convert to anything from a single axle, day-cab to a stretched-frame/big sleeper rig). With a bit of practice, you might be able to build one of these into that wrecker you mentioned. For detail work, I've found "Sharpie" markers to be quite useful. Black and silver are great for trim/moldings (as well as touch-up on other painted parts). Red, amber, orange etc are excellent for chrome parts into colored lenses (turn signals, marker lights etc). Finally, to mirror the comment by Ben, keep at it, each build will teach you something new that will help you improve on the next one. Keep at it and welcome to the Truckin' side! brinx
  16. Another excellent trade experience with Jim Sullivan (DPNM). I have been keeping a running/updated list of Good Traders on this board (see post #225 on page 12). brinx
  17. Ahh, ok, makes sense that way, thanks...I'm going to give that a try.
  18. Justin, If its not too late, would love to see how you made the gooseneck. That is the second part of the project that has been giving me a hard time. The one you've created really captures the right look I'm after. brinx (lol..."smooth as a brick in the dryer"....I gotta remember that one! )
  19. Looking good, I've been trying one myself...I think I'm going to re-do and try your approach. Can't wait to see more. brinx
  20. Patrick, take a look at www.tow411.net/ Lot of good info there, maybe you'll be able to find what you're looking for. brinx
