My latest restoration project. MPC 1979 Camaro Z/28. Dug out another glue bomb built 37 years ago and decided it was worth a shot at a restoration. Painted in Tamiya White with a set of Revell decals I had leftover from a previous Camaro build. I didn't have a set of colour-keyed stock wheels so I went with a set of Cragars.

Thanks guys! -
Decided to dig out this 39 year build, strip the paint of the body, interior, chassis and engine parts and restore it using a different colour combination. I ordered a set of Keith Marks blue screaming chicken decals which required a blue interior according to factory specs. I'm happy with the results. The first pic is what it looked like when it was initially built 39 years ago. Check her out.

Thanks guys for all of the great comments. Sorry for being late to reply....I had forgotten that I posted the model in here until just now, must be old age. The kit offers three decal color choices, tires and wheels came from my parts box since I didn't like the ones that came with the kit. I lettered the tires with a white acrylic gelly roll pen which came out nice and was ten times faster than using a paint brush. Bob Ellis, to answer your question regarding the exhaust, they are the older dual exhausts. The T-tops were done with BMF Black Chrome which was a pain to apply due to the bad adhesion qualities and thickness of the foil itself. Tends to get wrinkles when you lay it down and are tough to get out. On top of that the black rubs off the foil easily if you handle it too much. Under the hood pic included. I didn't wire the engine because I find MPC kits lack under the hood detail.

I took my old annual MPC 1977 Camaro that I built 39 years ago and rebuilt it as a rare 1977 Camaro Z/28. Body was stripped of paint and repainted in Tamiya Pure White, stock Z/28 wheels were sent to me by a fellow modeler, a 1970 Camaro parts kit was used to provide the exhaust system, chin spoiler and a set of Keith Marks 1977 Z/28 decals were used to finish it off.

Thanks guys! Bob the Camaro in the foreground is a 1979 and my new build in the back is a 1980.

Been trying for two years to get this one done and finally finished it last night. Decals are from Keith Marks since the ones in the kit didn't appeal to me and lacked detail.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I wanted to restore these old 30 year old Jo-Han Caddy builds since they are quite rare to find these days and very expensive to buy if you can even find them.

Looks fantastic. I need on for my Mopar muscle car series. Wished I bought one back in the day when MPC released these kits.

Very nice Bruce. Looks great. I did one in the same color except mine has the white roof. Congrats!
