  1. Thanks guys. Mustang Sally likes her Shelby both ways with top down and top up.
  2. Thanks guys! Lee, I used Testors "steel" brush paint for center parts of the wheels.
  3. Just finished up this Revell Shelby GT500. Painted in Model Master factory color "Acapulco Blue". Tire decals are from Fireball Modelworks.
  4. Very nice Ron and definitely a rare subject!
  5. Thanks Steve for the heads-up.
  6. Thanks guys! Frank, I didn't have any problems with the nose band decal but I did use a decal setting solution. When I applied the solution it softened the decal enough to conform to curve of the nose. Scripts are decals which were included with the kit.
  7. Thanks Dan and Ron.
  8. Thanks guys!
  9. Looks great David and glad to see you finally finished it.
  10. Very nice Steve. Definitely a rare one!
  11. Same here Steve. This is the first Corvette I have built in over twenty years. When I was in my teens a buddy and I only built Corvette models and over the years I ended up with too many and got bored with them. I thought I would give this one a try because I liked the L88 engine. The only other Corvette I have plans to build at this point will be the new 2014 C7 if one is ever released.
  12. Thanks everyone. John, no I will not be going to the show in Hamilton. I never do model shows or contests.
  13. Just finished this Revell 1968 Corvette L88. Built this same kit around twenty years ago and was going to rebuild it but was too far gone to fix it up so I decided to start fresh with a new kit. Painted it in Testors "Bug Yellow" enamel which is a pale shade of yellow. I wanted it to have a real stock look so I went with whitewalls done with my circle stencil and a white gelly roll acrylic medium tip pen. Check her out.
  14. Thanks guys...............
  15. Thanks Joe and Scott. Joe, usually I can do a build in about three weeks. I have a routine I stick to. I paint the body first so it can be drying then I paint all of the chassis parts black in one day and then I do the brush painting the next day.......almost like an assembly line.
  16. Thanks Joe and Derrick. Joe, this build took me about a month to complete but being on vacation for two weeks at Christmas helped speed things up a bit.
  17. Thanks guys. I received some black wash in the mail today. Never had this stuff before for doing gaps in doors and trunk lids. Great stuff. The first build I did was my recent '76 Nova SS. I like the results.
  18. Thanks everyone!
  19. Thanks guys. Snake there are couple of them right now on Ebay both sealed. Seen them today.
  20. I finally finished up this old rare kit from AMT that I bought on ebay several years ago. Painted in Testor's "Competition Orange" enamel. Tires in the kit were swapped out for a smaller set I had in my tire parts box. The ones that came with the kit looked too large for a car of this size. Tire decals are from Fireball Modelworks and the Nova SS decals are from Keith Marks. I sanded off the molded-in Nova scripts. Have a look and see what you think.
  21. I had encountered a few fit issues as well. More so with the hood not fitting flush with the front edge of the body. Had to dremel some plastic away from the front in behind the grille in order to achieve a flush fitting hood. Can't remember the details now since it was back in July that I built this kit. I know it's frustrating but keep at it, you eventually get it right.
  22. Great looking 2014 builds Peter!
