  1. Sorry about that...somehow the word "convertible" snuck in there.
  2. The last of my old Jo-Han Cadillacs to be restored. Before:
  3. Very nice. Excellent job!
  4. Thanks everyone. Dave thanks for the kind words.
  5. Picked up the 2014 Corvette yesterday. Been waiting a long time for it. Camaro and Mustang look great.
  6. Another 30 year old build that needed a makeover. BMF over silver painted trim and a polish.
  7. Thanks everyone. Charlie, make sure you paint the roof silver since all '57 Eldo Broughams came with a stainless steel roof.
  8. Thanks guys! I too wasn't sure how this multi-piece kit would turnout. Was feeling a little skeptical about starting it!
  9. Gorgeous looking Cadillac Peter. Looks very realistic. Great colour scheme as well!
  10. Wow, fantastic looking build Steve. Looks absolutely amazing and very 1:1 looking! Great job!
  11. Thanks guys. Dale apparently all 1957 Eldorado Broughams came with the silver roof no matter what body colour you ordered.
  12. Thanks. I used a metal washer over the end and rotated it slightly so that the washer cut a fine line in the chrome. That gave me the line to paint on.
  13. Thanks Ray. Got them painted.
  14. Thanks everyone! David I know I have shares in BMF stock with all of these Cadillacs I've been doing lately. If nothing else I'm sure getting plenty of practice foiling!
  15. Thanks Yuri......finished pics of my build posted in "Under Glass".
  16. Thanks guys! Steven after comparing the size to my reference pics I used, I think it's properly proportioned. Maybe it's me but it looks to be right. The 1957 Eldo 1:1 vehicle was not that long compared to the 1959 Eldo which was long.
  17. Got the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham finished. I'm pleased with the way it turned out considering the tooling is 58 years old. Interesting info below. The stunning 1957-58 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham is arguably the most lavish car that automaker has ever built. It was by far the highest-priced American auto and was produced in limited numbers to show that Caddy was the luxury car king. Still gorgeous, the Eldorado Brougham sedan--actually a four-door hardtop with no center roof posts--carried the stratospheric price of $13,074. A regular Cadillac sedan cost $4,781, and a Chevrolet sedan could be had for $2,048. Curb weight was a whopping 5,315 lbs.
  18. Thanks everyone. Actually I find the body proportionally correct compared to my reference pics .
  19. Finally got the 1957 Eldorado "Chrome Hog" all foiled. Spent another whole day applying foil. It's no wonder these beasts weighed in at a whopping 5,315 lbs. and needed a big V8 to haul them around! Just need to install windshield wipers (courtesy of my parts box) not included in the kit and a few decals, tires and I think she's finished.
  20. This looking great Steven. Love the way you did the upholstery. Great color choice as well on the body.
  21. Thanks Steve. I'm surprised at the outcome so far. I was anticipating a fair amount of frustration but the kit is actually going together quite nicely. Still have more foiling to do. Looks like a '50's Caddy
