  1. Vacuum casting urethane resin is a PITA, unless you plan on doing rubber items, stick to pressure casting right now. You can pressure cast your silicone to eliminate air bubbles, and the same goes for urethane resin.
  2. As great as the new lonestar kit is, the sprue attachment points on the chrome wheels are just like AMT truck kits! After trimming the attachment point off the face of the wheel, i'm, left with 3 protrusions under the chrome.
  3. I hope it is a Boston year! (bruins and celtics) As a native, it is in my blood!
  4. Got them cast up and will be shipped this morning! Ty!
  5. My 1993 notchback. Bought it about 5 years ago, drove it the first year till the 2.3 and the auto transmission decided to lose compression and blow reverse (not simultaneously) Sat at work for a year and a half baking in the sun (i know bad idea)Then I brought it to my fathers shop where it sat under a tree, getting pinged with acorns till last week were I tore out the engine getting ready for a restoration. Body wise it doesnt need much, just some basic body repairs. Although I plan to buy or make my own panel covers for the engine bay to cover up the holes. debating to carb it or go efi. Getting a 302 transplant, t-5, 5 lug cobra brake swap, rear disks. I got lucky, all it needs is a drivers front floor, other than that its only surface rust and some dings. I have a lot of body parts luckly from all the years being involved with fox body mustangs. The lincoln mark viii is getting parted out. Was bought for only 300 bucks, it needs some mechanical work, great car but to much money to put into. Its worth more in parts than it is whole. dohc 4.6 is going in my fathers 94 mustang hard top, cutting down the aluminum driveshaft for my red notch, getting the electric fan to, gonna pull the pumpkin and brakes while im at it.
  6. I just ordered more silicone and resin from my supplier in boston, should be here tomorrow (gotta love 1 day ground shipping!) I'll start preparing the listings today
  7. Your best bet is if you're using mozilla firefox browser, is to use a free add-on from there add-on website called "ad block" I can rightclick any add or picture and block it, and I wont have a problem with it anymore. Works well on forums that have a model of the month picture plastered at the top of the header every time you click a topic
  8. Soon as I get my production molds made, I will list them!
  9. http://public.fotki.com/73OldsOmega/wheels/?view=roll New wheels have been made!
  10. I was in your shoes last year, I needed a lathe to make masters for my wheels. I ended up buying a Taig and loved it ever since. Because it goes hand in hand with my resin casting, my lowly sum of 400 bucks to buy my taig has paid for itself the first month I bought it!
  11. Percentage based, due to small items being sold there would be best. ($3.50-5.00 items) Last year I listed tons of my resin cast wheels, for 2 months I only sold 2 items.
  12. Rob, I'm sorry to hear this! I'll keep my eyes peeled on Craigslist .
  13. Things will pick up. My name is established now, and feedback will be rolling in shortly. . Hubs will happen in future sets, I just dont have a mill right now so giving the hubs the accuracy I want has to wait, unless I use the 35 chevy dirt track modified hubs or the hubs from the f350 ford dually(which are on the small side and tapered)
  14. Stewart, I dont think I will widen the 8 lug wheels any wider as they will look a little "cartoony" I can add about 3mm to the width on the tires as dirt track sprint cars have many sizes of some cool tread tires for different tracks they race on, so this would be similiar to that in width (17-18mm wide) I will do some mockup and see where things stand next week.
  15. Oh is that so? Since when? Maybe you should wipe out the whole resin section since majority of the posts are us resin casters advertising a product The buisiness dealings are dealt with offsite like most of us resin casters who showcase a product on the forum who issue a price in the description.
  16. Honestly, I would rather do all the grunt work myself, as I would Only build 1 hawaiian Now if I was building a few..then Id say bring on the resin body! But that is just me.
  17. I would use the caps on the front :)I didnt make the dustcap on the fronts anyways so it means less scratch work for you (if you wanted that detail anyways) Decals look wonderful Mike!
  18. I was hoping to go...but time is gonna be tight, so there is a good chance I wont make it, its a bummer, Every year something stops me from going!
  19. Worked for me Harry! I just watched this thread by clicking the box at the top right, subscribed and when I went back to this thread a stop watching box appeared in the same spot.
  20. Awesome Rodney! Im gonna order this kit off ebay now! (short bed version too) I had the snaptite versions since its first release, but never seen many actual glue versions built. i love the wheel and tire combo!
  21. That would be a "MEL" series engine (mercury edsel lincoln)
  22. A friend of mine gave me the idea to master a cummins 4b diesel, so I will look into fabricating one up!
  23. On big orders, my turn around time is only a few weeks, however These I knew would sell like hotcakes (the 8lugger stock steelies) so I got a large mold made. Turn around time is they ship in 2 days
  24. I cast a few niche items, website in my sig. Hang out in the resin section, many casters reply and showcase there products there also.
  25. I read you can use film negative as window tint, but it might be to dark, I never tried it. Maybe tamiya translucent smoke grey paint could be sprayed behind the purple, darkening it up, while the lightness of the report cover should still give a purple hue.
