  3. sweeett !! love the paint !!
  4. thnx i did give it a new wash . like no rust but just a bit dark grey ... the rust was to much for this dio
  5. nice looking good !!!
  6. thnx terry i did change the center , cut mesh and glued it in , bend ik so it is concave shaped inside .. looks a tad better
  7. today i decided to do more work on the floor drain .. used the thin plastic window blinds and made a squaire with a big hole .. i cut out a square in the floor and glued that in so it was sitting fluch with the floor .. added a round lid and in the center some mesh (man that was tiny )
  8. thnx guys .. and about the office when i have material to make windowframes and glass it will have the perfect look .. next week (sat.) i will go to a big modelstore and buy some modelwood and maybe some styrene .... and hope they maybe have like real thin acrylic glass .. because with the out ans inside window i need a lot and i have not been able to find something to use that comes from packaging or .....
  9. i decided to put a wooden edge on the office walls , painted it white .. a ceiling would take away a lot of the detail i want to put in the office .. like a nice desk with phone , cabinet with shelfs and books in it .. and more .. this way you can really see inside ....a ceiling in a diorama is cool but in a way i always feel it becomes more of a box to look in instead of wide open and all details visible .. i could make a ceiling later thats removable
  10. whouw thats cool the dude holding the modelvar is just soooo cool !! .. would be awsome on a shelf at your build station
  11. finished the stool .. and finally i got the feel and vision for the garage loads of idea's , like benches with wooden tops , colomn drill on a bench , grind stone machine ... i want to try and add more detail then the other garage and like do more mall stuff like wiring and pugs / cords .. wehll lets say loads to do still:) the other hotrod garage has a scale model of a '32 ford deuce so a modelcar in a modelgarage (lol) , this one will get one as well , a chevy ..... and made a clock for the office used half of a wheel cover of a packard 1/18 modelcar , a while back i turned that into a hotrod ... printed a clock face from sunoco racing fuels and made new dial with shade , cut a clearface plate out of the lid of a cue tip box .. and fitted it in the office , simpel to make but i think it fits the theme perfect
  12. thnx base is painted silver just a few minutes ago
  13. yes usually i see things in "stuff" haha , btw i dont only do that in modelbuilding i often use stuff to build stuff irl lol but to follow up on my promise that the previous stool was a test here is the new and final version , already to dark to shoot some silver on the base so that will have to waight until tomorrow a lot of you guys will recognise the well known revell steering wheel as foot rest , i only removed one spoke (?) and left 2 and sanded into shape ... works great used a deep dish steering wheel and used only the spakes as a base that rest on the ground , piece of sprue , glued it and stuck a hot needle through it all for extra stability .. added a ring on top to make it thicker and voila ...
  14. thnx guys and bob no not a mancave , changed to just a garage .. but the desk isnt looking real abused right ? like its still in tact , nor real damaged , no rust .. i found it got that like nice worked with / on vibe .. but you will see when the rest comes together wont be all the same some things will be more crisp and others more used .. sort of balanced a bit .. like in a garage you often see older furniture / machines etc mixed with newer stuff .. i'm just not the guy too keep it all 100% crisp and ....lol and jesse the wood in the garage on the walls , those thin strips those are the only things i bought , in a modelstore a while back , its real hardwood ... the large pieces of wood on the office are just scraps i found some day .. and the wood on the bench and stool are wooden coffee stirrers , i got a whole bag from a guy at a place i had to go for work , started about modelling and the wooden strirrers they had at the coffe machine and he said waight and gave me a whole bag full.. but i already found them online a whole box of wood stirrers about 1000 pieces for maybe 10 euro .. lol
  15. thnx made a test version of a stool with wooden seat , the test was to get a round real wooden seat out of coffe stirers .. the base looks horrible too big , too thick but i will make a second version .. just used hard plastic card made a circle glued the wood on with super glue and uses scissors to cut the wood round (bit to wide) and sanded the edges .. then sanded round edges on the wood , works perfect curious on your opinions about the weathered look , like the balance between stuff looking used but still somewhat shiney .. the bech is for me like a used steel base and the wood is stained and has like a gloss look .. so not too weathered .. trying to keep myself in control ..weathering wise hahaha
  16. thnx and yes works great on semi gloss got a day off work today and changed the desk / bench for the office , i decided totally clean and crisp wasn my cup of tea , looks a bit to static and its a garage , so i tried to find a compromise with it looking a bit more rough but not real weathered and not rusted just used .. thats my plan throughout the garage from now .. shiney and used looks i will loose the red stools , those bases are to thick ... it kinda looks nice in different places but this one will sit in the office , will make a matching chair with steel and wood , in the garage i will make larger benches and in a corner so the have like a L shape
  17. here you can see i painted the rims , engine and steering wheel center of the kart .. the engine needs some detail but hey its just a cool thing to add on making pictures made a desk , like a clean workbench in the office for special assembly andto have workbooks .. etc .. i think i will make the same one but different , the cabinets are from lego and whell not real sure on those ... made a box on the bench , designed it myself in fotoshop and printed it but the vibe is cool like still the 60's look but not too much .. so i can keep the table and chairs , for customers to hang out or to have a chat about a project etc ... more detail will come off course ..in this garage i want to go even more into the details then the hotrod garage like really make a lot of tiny stuff
  18. thnx bib , the kart is scale 1/25 and like a iron with plastic model , its from majorette , labelen Kart ref 299a ech 1/25 today i painted the rims of the kart all silver insde , painted the steering wheel center chrome and painted the engine chrome , is drying atm .. got this from my son , dont know where it came from .. cool littke thing but just a half hour ago i went nuts !!! in a good way i found matte photopaper , all my prints ahere done on regulair white a4 paper ... i just really started printing recently (in the hotrod garage) .. problem was tiny flyers and books where impossible to print sharp and readable in the right scale ... i have a good printer and print in high quality .. so when i found the thick smooth matt paper we used way back to print a photo i wanted to try it to make a sign and thought the thickness might make it look more like a real sign printed it and went mad .. it was sooo sharp !!! so i started printing stuff i printed before and it was like whoooooowww.. also reprinted the shop logo made it more bright red instead uf dark red and man how sharp !! i might have to redo the logos on my old dio's some day !! and then printed this a small flyer from mercury and omg its readable and soo small , this opens so much possibility's for books and details ad's so much more realism
