  1. thnx ira got the base of the engine done , stacks and valve covers in chrome (doent really show in this pic maybe they need 2 coats on top of the alu spray) some black things like a red distributer and red wires will pop massive later on
  2. lovely !! really dig the rust
  3. well here is holland > holland actually has a hudge and massive modelbuild population . when i was a child holland was even bigger modelbuild wise , i myself discovered the hobby on a late age .. so its sad to say the new generation isnt really a hands on glue it together generation. they rather facebook about things yoy wonder why anybody would take the time to put that on teh inetrnet. gamers ... etc etc but i'm glad to say my 8 year old son does game but he also loves to play outdoors , he is most happy playing with trash like papers and ... and always fiddeling with stuff , building lego ... and last week we bought his forst modelkit , he really wanted it , i said think about it because you dont have to do this , only if you really want to (i think thats important never to push kids into a hobby) so that said he wanted and we bought a snap tite kit from a corvette back to holland , a lot of active forums and a big variety of styles , we also still have a nice ammount of real live modelbuild shops but we noticed the number of shops deceasing due to the online shops its hard to keep your head above the water these days with economy so a lot of shops just could not stay open on duch forums you will see all sorts of sections >boats >trains >airoplanes >cars >trucks >motorcycles >military in every form >diorama's > sci fy so yes holland is a real modelbuild country also a very very big rc scene over here , and like everywhere the cars are well represented but in holland you also have a hudge crowd of boating enthousiasts , not weird seeing we have such a big port / harbour and a lot of people working in the harbour do stuff like that in thier free time or retirement my dad also builds and already did when i was a baby , he builds boats , but not rc and not kits he scratch builds all his boats and makes the hulls out of very stirdt white cardboard sheets and also uses old palstics he builds cranes en on the attic he build a whole harbour , with ships , cranes trucks ..
  4. awsome link i saw his site a while back and went whow then
  5. started some weathering. first > in real life it looks way less dramatic as on the pics , less black i washed in all the seems to create more depth , will get some lighter grey tones also its just a base to build on did some mild weathering on the bricks and the window frames got a sand on the edges so there are parts of bare wood
  6. thnx guys ! today i started to change the top of the engine , found a part in my partsbox (dont know what it was for)and cut out this section then started to drill holes in the top made a fuelline froma guitar snare fited the new stacks and test fitted a brass tube then used the top with rounden flat surface , not sure if i have to use these or just the straight tubes , i want to try to file the straight tube in a slash cut exhaust tips from brass i thought this fitted the theme and looks of all the speedholes then sprayed the engine in alu spray , will get more detail and some black and some chrome the details i will add will be separate made pieces
  7. thnx .. just the base i want to weather the walls and maybe remove a few bricks and fill them with bondo and make it look like the space is filled with concrete maybe paint some stones a third color with a small brush also found some cool stuff to build heaters hanging on the wall need to ad more pillars on the right wall , some wire cross braces real lighting got enough idea;s to keep me going for a while
  8. het thnx , well before i just used the regulair plastic glue , like from revell or humbrol , like the liquid poly glue (watery stuff) since this saturday i'm working with plaststruct plastiweld , also watery but this glue claimed to glue together all sorts and types of plastics . so that means i could also glue abs onto styrene etc etc and i must say is just works .. real bizarre i have like hard plastic sheets that i got out of old window blinds .. its a bit like styrene but harder and i could not glue that with the regulair poly liquid glue , now with plastiweld it just glues togheter and also glues it on all other types of plastics for instance in the upodate i'm posting in this post you will see 3 metal tubes coated with plastic , those are glued to the engine and eitch other with plastiweld . oh and also with plastiweld its settled faster and it feels like its glued together stronger , so like a few seconds and i can already apply pressure or sand or file it tried some copper bushes for end pipes , off course i will bend the plastic so they will come outward a bit , just for seeing how it looks 3 stacks on the engine , these are metal with a plastic dipped coating ( dont know what they are for i scavenged these at work) together with the scalpt 3-window coupe in the garage .. the garage is finally progressing again , that needs a ton of work and detail still , need t waether teh bricks and make a nice floor (this one is just painted temporary)
  9. awsome , love the hood and grille adjustment , looks so much better
  10. looking great !!!
  11. thnx the post above you is now editted , recently when i make a whole post with pictures only part is there and the rest of the text and all pics are gone i now know what helps , fill in verything without the smiley window and then switch to where the smileys are there and the pics are visible as a picture instead of a link typed .... like and the hit post
  12. thnx started a custom bigblock v8 out of several parts used a old incomplete blown v8 but going to build it up without a blower the exhaust manifolds are from the revell kit , but mounted upside down to the new engine so they run free , i will modify those and make pipes on them the valve covers mounted lowered the big square in the middle where a blower should mount and placed a left over intake manifold cut of a revell gerbox and made it so that is one piece with the driveshaft and can slide in separate from the engine like this (tranny is upside down)
  13. whow thats some serious painting !!! awsome result
  14. awsome kit !!
  15. well its on its wheels , i needed to make some custom backsides to glue them on the front and rear axle changed the engine from red to matte green , the red was to bright red for all the black and greys .. but ater dryfitting .. hmm maybe i will build a big block out of all the left over parts i have i also have a drag racing engine , just the bare block did the grille a bit rougher , on this pic the grille house really shows the bare metal effect the stance test fit of the steering wheel
  16. now that the walls are done (base) its really progressing again , still need a ton of detail , also will add more pillars and some cross members pillar floor plates with bolts etc later on first painted the pillars and wall plating roughly in silver then weathered all of that and added a thick edge on the wall plates made from styrene then painted that edge matt green and also repainted the window frames in that green so it matches and i can use that color on more details , needed to be a color that was not too bright really getting that industrial feel i was after now , and with real detail work like piping , real lighting , sockets , bolts etc it will really come to life more
  17. thnx !! first sanded the tyres and painted the deeper part of the rim spokes black before > after > steering wheel / colom chrome (sorry for the blurry pic) and then painted the edge matt black engine in bright red , just the base needs some washes and some details need to be painted plack etc etc thought it would pop with all the grey and bare metal
  18. thnx well it came out even better then i hoped , this was the second time i did this and i must say this one looks best
  19. went over the body with black acrylic paint on a cloth and washed it on and then rubbed of untill i was happy. then with a tiny pensil i went along the edges with matt black enamel paint and rubbed it of with a cloth leaving some fine lines along the bdylines for added depth floor inside is matt black , the tunnel now really pops also did the chassis that was a crime to sand with all the small parts on it next step some black en chrome detailing on the chassis
  20. very very cool , i would try to scuf up the red paint a bit with superfine sandpaper so the gloss go's away and maybe indeed give it some flat tyres
  21. very very cool , nice build !!
  22. well go make one then
  23. looking awsome already !!!!
