'32 revell ford roadster > ROUGHROD ....
crazyrichard replied to crazyrichard's topic in WIP: Model Cars
well i wanted something unique and a while back i found this really old pic of a racer drilled full of speedholes .. i wanted to use that theme but in a more fancy way so it will become like a barely street legal drag / racer . paint is going to be bare metal , sound wierd paint > bare metal but hey we use styrene lol using real alunimium zink spray , its paint with metal parts in it back in the day pic i found the wheels , rims are out of a amt corvette gasser kit with some tyres from the partsbox and the rear tyres of this kit speedhole time , trying to keep it normal and not do to much holes folowed the rear side line -
whow thnx .. well tbh i never have been around real hotrods much , really sad but true. i'm turning 38 this year and just one year ago i saw a perioud correct hotrod for the first time on a show in belgium.. there are shows here and i'm planning to visit some this year ... so on my models i'm just doing something i feel is right , i'm not a real hotrod expert in any way , so when you say it makes you think of the 1:1 back in the ... that makes me smile , doing something right i guess i believe its like when you really have a passion for something and you really look into it you can self teach and become self -made also and i keep saying this i learned a lot in the short perioud i have been here by seeing others at work , just proves how inspiring good build threads with good pictures can be and about the english > back in the day @ school i always got a 9 or 10 for english and never learned for exams it also helps that i have been on english based forums for a few years.. maybe sometimes my sentences are a bit weird and on some things i dont know the right word but i can manage i guess anyway thnx for the kind words

just started a new kit after finishing the other 32 ford . spend a hour and got a nice start , just started and not sure what its going to be exactly .. a bit rougher and very very low the boxart flattened the whole front of the cab there was a molded strip for the front windscreen drilled some speedholes , fixed the panlels to the inside of teh body and flattened the edges kind of matches the dash channeled body and the axle will be higher up > low low low fitting bucket seats instead of a bench

you could make some trips of styrene along the upper line of the door , curving to the back and make like a canvas roof that could be rolled up and down ? make like some cross members in between for strenght ?? but i know what you mean about the thickness , you would not believe how thick the roof on mine was on the rounded shapes of the roof , at one point i thought what did i got myself into your doorwith / thickess does look thicker then mine though

crazyrichard replied to Fender's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
currently building on the dinig table in the livingroom ..... all my stuff is in a cubbord in the livingroom usually i build in my shed / workshop but thats too cold and to humigd in the winter .. i hope to build a space upstairs in the future , still redoing the whole upper floor and rearanging the rooms / walls and ceilings so that may take a while but one thing is for sure a ficed workearea is great but its not a must , you can build anywhere
