  1. Ah... Okay. Now I get it. Thank you.
  2. What photos/images are you referring to here, Greg? Again, I'm missing something.
  3. Unlike you Charlie, I'm not getting it. Can some please explain to us slower ones?
  4. I'm with Andy. I'm waiting to see some photos. And/or a full review of this kit.
  5. I really wish Revell would consider bring this kit back. I think the last we saw it was back in the late 1980's.
  6. Naturally I like the front. And rear doesn't look too bad from the angle in the photo immediately shown above. I like I said before, not my cup of tea overall. But, I'm impressed enough with it to take a second look.
  7. Fun!
  8. Very nice looking Bird. The color is great. And so is the rest of the build.
  9. This has been another fun and interesting thread to read. These reviews can be interesting and useful. But then again, most things started by Boyd tend to be, and continue to go that way.
  10. Would painting the channeled car another color have made those rust/patina decals maybe blend in better? I'm not trying to criticize your choices Tim. Your model is great. It's just that I like idea of decals, and I'm wondering if anybody else has any idea of how make them more real? More right? I'm not sure how to phase what I'm trying to say. I kind of like the idea of building a car with a little surface rust on it.
  11. I'm loving reading the above posts. I don't know how much of it I'll be using, but I sure am learning a lot. About both model and real street/hot rods. There is some great knowledge and insight going on here. This thread is just plain good reading. None of the personal BS. I'm like it! Thanks guys.
  12. Thanks for posting the above photos Tim. After seeing them I will have to build mine as a highboy. The channeled car just doesn't look right to me. And I don't mean Revell missed the mark on the channeled version. After seeing your photos I just don't like the looks of it. In general I've anyways liked highboys better. But I do think Revell did a great job with the channeled version too. What I am a little disappointed in, in seeing your photos, are the patina/rust decals. These don't look right to me. They don't look like rust or patina. They just look like decal. What's your thoughts on this? Maybe you built/painted your model too nice to make those decals work? The highboy I'm very impressed with great job. I think you did a great job on the other, but the general looks and the decals are missing the mark for me.
  13. I'm in support of the police all the way. The recent shootings of cops around the courty is just plain wrong. The recent questioning of cops motives in several case is questionable and wrong in my opinion too. I'm sure there are some bad cops. But, most are good guys and gals, working hard to protect the average innocent person out there from the scum and idiots. I use to in younger days, get into a little trouble from time to time. I was one of idiots. But, since I got more honest and smarter over years. Guess what? I've had no run ins with the police what so ever. In the last 30+ years I've done nothing to attract the polices attention. I haven't even had a traffic ticket in well over 10 years. The police tend not to mess with people who follow the law, and act decent to each other. STOP shooting cops and other people! This results in nothing put trouble and accomplishes nothing positive in the long run.
  14. Hey, we're not going to just take your gearhead man card away, but your regular man card too! ? Nah, just kidding. You can do worst. A few years ago I bought Academy's 1/24th scale Opel-Pontiac Le Mans GSE. A local hobby shop had a couple of them sitting on their shelves for years. (In fact the rest maybe still be sitting there.) Sometime the "plain" or "nerd" car can fun to model too.
  15. The Fujimi kit with the bike and rack is very cool. I need to find one of those.
  16. Fun paint job. It looks like you did a very nice job on it.
  17. Not my cup of tea, looks wise. But, I'm very impressed with the job you did. Very nice.
  18. Very nice. I like the looks of tall Ts. Or the phone booths as they were called back in the 50's and 60's. I would think in real life, they'd be much more comfortable the get in and out of of, and drive than a T chopped like the one AMT offered in their chopped Model T double kit. For this reason when I bought and built mine, I used AMT's tall T kit.
  19. What scale is this model? And if it's 1/25th - 1/24th, were did you get the bike?

    Volkswagen

I too agree. Very nice job. I love those old rear engined Volkswagens.
  21. Thanks Ron for posting the pictures above. The quality and portions look simular to the Cord 812 by Pyro Kit I built back in the 1970's. Because of Mongram's great Cord 812 kit I'd never did built another Pyro version again. This is fine for the Cord. The problem is, in anything remotely 1/25th - 1/24th scale for the Auburn, the Pyro kit is the only thing available. Someday I may buy one. But I know it's going to take a lot of work to make it look okay. As far as chrome parts go in the new Lindberg reissue of the Pyro Auburn. What parts are chrome plated? Wasn't everything that would be chrome on the real car, molded into other parts on the model, requiring paint or foil? The hub caps are molded into the wheels. The step plates to the rockers. I'm not seeing the grille or headlamps above. Were they seperate pieces that could be chrome plated? I assume the side pipes and bumpers could be offered in chrome. I would like to see a more modern Lindberg version, showing the chrome parts.
  22. Do we need a new Barracuda? Why not just give us a new next generated Challenger? Plymouth is dead. And that's a shame. But, why does Dodge need a Barracuda, when they already have a Challenger? Challenger has done well for them. Right?
