Quick Overview: Revell Starsky & Hutch Torino
unclescott58 replied to Chuck Kourouklis's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Despite my displeasure with a few minor things I've all ready pointed out. I more than likely will buy the S&H version of this kit. And other than paint, I'll probably build it straight out of the box. With the jacked up rear end, the slotted wheels, and the dual carb set up. And in general, be happy with it. And as soon as I've done that, Revell will announce the version I really want, and I'll end up buying a second on -
Most accurate kit(s) ever (1/24-25)?

The canopy glass also tilted up on the original. Including in my copy of "It Started With a Kiss". -

The two kits above would be cool. -
Check your muffler fluid, M'aam?

After spending a summer working in a auto parts store, and seeing all specialty items and high prices for parts, especially with Volkswagens. I would never own one. I found it interesting that most of the guys who work at the auto parts store I worked at, drove GM products. Mainly Chevys. By the way, I had a great time working in the store for the summer. I've now gone back to my regular job in the education field. But, they were please enough with me, to ask that I stay on the books by working for them one day a month during the school year. And come back and work for them next summer. It's a great job. And I loved it. I will do as they requested. But, I love my normal job working with kids even more. -

Any pictures of what we're talking about here? -
I still don't understand why people post the above type of comments. Again, it's okay to not like the car or the kit. But, why rub our noses in it if you think it's that bad? Some of us like this generation Thunderbird. And we like the kit. There are lots of kits out there that I don't like, I think are stupid, and I will not buy. I will still read the reviews on them. But, I try to keep my negative comments away from them, so not to ruin others enjoyment of it. If there is a real problem with the kit. That's one thing. But, just because you don't like it means you have to tell the rest of us that we're all fools and idiots for liking it? Where has common courtesy gone? And I'm not interested in just singling out one person on this. I see this here a lot. And sometimes it gets me asking myself why I even come here to read these posts. Too bad. These should be fun and/or helpful. Was the above either?

Quick Overview: Revell Starsky & Hutch Torino
unclescott58 replied to Chuck Kourouklis's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks for all of the good info Chuck. I'm still debating on whether I'd be better off waiting until Revell does a stock one. Hopefully in white plastic. I like this generation Torino. But, I'm not a big fan of the S&H modifications. The wheels I could live with, but the jacked up rear and multi-carb setup, really make me want to wait on this one. Do we know for sure that Revell will offer a more stock version of this kit down the road? What are the odds? If they are good, I'll be passing on this version. I want the same car with a normal stance, single carburator, and hopefully Magnum 500 wheels. -

The only thing I'm slightly disappointed with is the red plastic. I guess it makes sense that Revell would offer the kit this way. The question now becomes will they be releasing, down the road, a Torino kit molded in white? And will it be offered with factory style wheels? I've also noticed in the above photos, that this kit comes only with a dual carburator set up. Is this the case? And will a future release offer a factory correct manifold and carburator set up? Will these changes happen? And do I wait? Or buy one of these? And if I buy one of these, will Tamyia white primer let me paint the car another color? -

I've noticed nobody has mentioned the good old Palmer kits. I wonder why? -

Thank you. And after seeing the instructions, all I can say is wow! This kit has moved up high on my list of must gets.

More reasons you'll see no more photos from me. Sorry guys.

Happy birthday Tom. And Bill, the video above is cute. But, the monkey should have finished the song the way I do. It should finish with, "You look like a monkey. And smell like one a zoo." My poor sisters, both now in their 50's, still get that version from me! As does the rest of the family. So Tom, I guess you should be glad I'm not part of your family and there to sing to you. Again, happy birthday Tom.

Very nice Ray. One of our local model club member built one recently. He seemed to indicate he had a lot of troubles with his. Especially the windshield frame. And the general fit of the body to the fenders and chassis. How was yours? Any thought on this? I seem to remember no major problem the last time I built one. But, that was years ago.

Is there any chance someone can post some decent pictures of the instructions for this kit?

Wow! Very nice build.

You passed the test.
