  1. You know 5 is just not enough. Sorry, I hate to do it, put here are 5 more. 6. MPC 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT. 7. AMT 1966 Buick Skylark GS. 8. MPC '71 or '72 Dodge Sportsman passenger van. 9. MPC '71 or '72 Ford Chateau passenger van 10. MPC '71 Dodge Demon Scott
  2. Seems like a good idea. I found that I could not figure out how use the site and see what is available though. Scott
  3. 1. AMT Open Road Chevy van camper. 2. AMT 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 (not the Galaxie) 2-door hardtop. 3. AMT Chevrolet Astro show car. 4. Since Round 2 owns Lindberg, and Linberg has IMC's tools, the IMC Advenger GT. 5. MPC 1967 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. And that's just limiting myself to 5. Scott
  4. I just need to put my 2 cent in. The next Camaro looks okay to me. My favorite Camaro will always be the '70 - '73. But, it's not the late 60's or early 70's anymore. For a modern car it looks pretty good. Will I buy one? Probably not. But then I would not have purchased a Camaro at time in its past either. It's not right type of car for me. Scott
  5. Was at a car show yesterday and saw a very nice '59 Pontiac Star Chief Vista. Vista was the name Pontiac used for their 4-door hardtops at the time. So this was a flat top. Done in a mauve/pink that looked so right on the car. And wow, what a big car! I loved it. Scott
  6. Great video Chris! Where did you find that? Makes me want to own a Tatra more than ever. It's quirky styling looks right to me. Scott
  7. Any model kits of Tatras out there? Scott
  8. Lacquer paint is the really the only way to go. But, if I have to use enamel, I too use a food dehydrator. Well worth the price. But not need with lacquer. Scott
  9. I'm using Sharpies more and more for small detail work. They work pretty good. Scott
  10. Great look at the kit. I built on a little over 10 years now (maybe?). It's a very nice kit. They also offered in a GMC at one time. I don't know they still do or not. If I find one, I will buy it and build it. I'd love to have a matching Safari to go along with my Astro. Scott
  11. How you fix the rear trim is fine guys. I'm still wondering if one needs to? Scott
  12. Plus the blind quarter/formal roof 2-door Landau was not offered in 1970. There was a 2-door Landau in '70, but it was basically nothing more than regular T-bird 2-door hardtop with a vinyl roof. Scott
  13. For some reason I've seen a couple of Mark Vs in the last week or so. Both were in pretty good shape. I thought these all rotted away up here. Scott
  14. That's the the story I was trying to remember. I believe I read it in an Automobile Quarterly about 25 years ago or so. Scott
  15. It's a '60 or '61. Note the toilet seat (aka fake spare tire) on the trunk lid. Only the '60 and '61s carried that. The 62's did not. Scott
  16. I too have heard (read) this before. But, being in the education field we do warn kids about using Wikipedia as a source Harry. For the most part Wikipedia is right on. But... In this case I've read this through other sources. By the way, I'm very impressed by the knowledge you guys out there on this site have on automotive history. This has turned into another great thread to read. Scott
  17. Very cool cars, Tatras. Scott
  18. That Dart left the factory with leafs. But that a side, I can't help but see stupidity in some form here. Scott
  19. Revell instructions still give the names of the parts. You need to look at the page(s) with the parts list. Talk about not reading. Scott
  20. Do I need buy and build another one? No, but I love those big birds. That's a time when Thunderbirds had class. Scott
  21. Okay, but if your building your's stock, what happens to the trim Mr. Most decided to eliminate, when paint is applied? Is there still enough there to still see after paint is applied. It looked very shallow on the first unpainted body shell of this kit I saw. Scott
  22. Ah.... Thank you Greg. This is kind of what I was getting at. Okay the Monogram one isn't perfect. I get that. But, is it close enough for most people, including casual car buffs, to think its okay? Scott
  23. Thank you for explaining that. Since I do not know Swedish, I didn't know that's what your title meant. And by the way, I know there is more to that story. Something about the winning team trying to do the same thing with their car, failing and ruining a stage the car was on? If you guys know more about this story, please tell more. I remember where and when I read about it years ago, I found it to be a very interesting story. Scott
  24. Again, I bring up the question about the lower body side chrome trim on the rear fender, on this model. The only build I've seen so far is Chuck Most's model above. And I don't see this trim piece on his model. Did he sand it off? Or the detail so soft and shallow it gets easily buried by paint? Scott
