  1. I'm looking forward to hearing about the different kits in 1/24th and 1/25th scale too. Can of worms or not. Like the Aston Martin, I've never built a Jag E-type, XKE, or what ever you want to call it. And both the coupe and convertible versions interest me. So which is it. Heller, Revell, Aurora, or something else? I'm sure they all have their flaws. And it's a shame that somebody like Tamyia does not put out a more modern and better one. But since they don't, which one looks and builds okay, and can be found and bought at a reasonable price? Scott
  2. My thoughts, exactly. I'm too am not sure if it's JoHan or AMT. it one or the other. Scott
  3. Man I'm getting bored of people talking about wanting this model already. We all do. I'm waiting for someone to give us true review of this kit. Quit teasing me, sucking me back into this thread hoping someone finally has the kit in their hands, and is reviewing it. Let's be patient, and wait to talk about this kit when somebody has something to really talk about. Scott
  4. I wish it could be built as a regular 4-4-2, not the Hurst version. The grille on the Hurst cars are fine for the Cutlass Supreme. But I like the '72 4-4-2 grille much better. It also be nice if it came with the 4-4-2 stripes. Unless these two items are in the box, Linda Vaughn in there or not, will not get me to part with my money. Scott
  5. You keep finding the most interesting things Greg. I enjoy and check out just about all of your postings. Whether I like what I find or not, it's always interesting. Keep up the good work Scott
  6. Okay, I tried, but I could not get though this film. Watched all but the last twenty minutes before I threw in the towel. It was somewhat amusing and the 50's American cars were cool. But..... I sure I'm missing a lot not knowing Spanish. When again, I not so sure? Again it was amusing. But. The Tatra film is much better. Scott
  7. I'll stay with Tamiya's lacquers. Enamels and acrylics? Why mess around when lacquers work right every time? Scott
  8. If this comes back with the original tonneau cover for the bed I'll buy another one. If not, I'll pass. Scott
  9. I'm not a big '65 Belvedere fan. But, looking at what I'm seeing here, I may have to get one. It looks very nice. Scott
  10. You know 5 is just not enough. Sorry, I hate to do it, put here are 5 more. 6. MPC 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT. 7. AMT 1966 Buick Skylark GS. 8. MPC '71 or '72 Dodge Sportsman passenger van. 9. MPC '71 or '72 Ford Chateau passenger van 10. MPC '71 Dodge Demon Scott
  11. Seems like a good idea. I found that I could not figure out how use the site and see what is available though. Scott
  12. 1. AMT Open Road Chevy van camper. 2. AMT 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 (not the Galaxie) 2-door hardtop. 3. AMT Chevrolet Astro show car. 4. Since Round 2 owns Lindberg, and Linberg has IMC's tools, the IMC Advenger GT. 5. MPC 1967 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. And that's just limiting myself to 5. Scott
  13. I just need to put my 2 cent in. The next Camaro looks okay to me. My favorite Camaro will always be the '70 - '73. But, it's not the late 60's or early 70's anymore. For a modern car it looks pretty good. Will I buy one? Probably not. But then I would not have purchased a Camaro at time in its past either. It's not right type of car for me. Scott
  14. Was at a car show yesterday and saw a very nice '59 Pontiac Star Chief Vista. Vista was the name Pontiac used for their 4-door hardtops at the time. So this was a flat top. Done in a mauve/pink that looked so right on the car. And wow, what a big car! I loved it. Scott
  15. Great video Chris! Where did you find that? Makes me want to own a Tatra more than ever. It's quirky styling looks right to me. Scott
  16. Any model kits of Tatras out there? Scott
  17. Lacquer paint is the really the only way to go. But, if I have to use enamel, I too use a food dehydrator. Well worth the price. But not need with lacquer. Scott
  18. I'm using Sharpies more and more for small detail work. They work pretty good. Scott
  19. Great look at the kit. I built on a little over 10 years now (maybe?). It's a very nice kit. They also offered in a GMC at one time. I don't know they still do or not. If I find one, I will buy it and build it. I'd love to have a matching Safari to go along with my Astro. Scott
  20. How you fix the rear trim is fine guys. I'm still wondering if one needs to? Scott
  21. Plus the blind quarter/formal roof 2-door Landau was not offered in 1970. There was a 2-door Landau in '70, but it was basically nothing more than regular T-bird 2-door hardtop with a vinyl roof. Scott
  22. For some reason I've seen a couple of Mark Vs in the last week or so. Both were in pretty good shape. I thought these all rotted away up here. Scott
  23. That's the the story I was trying to remember. I believe I read it in an Automobile Quarterly about 25 years ago or so. Scott
  24. It's a '60 or '61. Note the toilet seat (aka fake spare tire) on the trunk lid. Only the '60 and '61s carried that. The 62's did not. Scott
  25. I too have heard (read) this before. But, being in the education field we do warn kids about using Wikipedia as a source Harry. For the most part Wikipedia is right on. But... In this case I've read this through other sources. By the way, I'm very impressed by the knowledge you guys out there on this site have on automotive history. This has turned into another great thread to read. Scott
