  1. Good video Tom. But no sound. What is the idea behind the use of pencil on the glass in making your own masks? Does this stop bleed through or what? Scott
  2. First, I find that I can find much better pictures of different cars, and car related objects through other sources. Like the books and the internet. Plus it a pain trying to take photos at most cars at car shows. People standing in the way, etc. And rarely do I run across anything as unusual as a Potvin supercharger. Plus I've found looking at most other peoples car show pictures as kind of boring. I'm sure they'd find mine the same way. So, I just enjoy looking and talking with other people more at car shows. By the way, Lee. Your in the Twin Cities area. Another street rod buddy was telling me just last night, that the car I saw, shows up at the North St. Paul show frequently. So I expect to see it again in the future. But, I still will probably not have a camera with me. Scott
  3. Looks great to me! I love those old JoHan kits. The engine and chassis detail may not be the best. But the bodies and interiors always build into nice looking models. Scott
  4. The above is more "Workbench" than "Under Glass" stuff. I look forward to seeing it when it's ready for Under Glass. Scott
  5. Ditto to what to what Mark said. Scott
  6. By the way, I wonder if the model designers/toolers back in the day would have ever imagined that their work would be scrutinized like this. Considering they were mainly designing these models for kids, I'm impress with how correct they worked on getting the details right on some of these kits. Look at the Blue Beetle's Cadillac mill. Could it be better detailed? Yes. But notice, how much they did get right. Scott
  7. This is the type of stuff I love to read and discuss. It's always interesting to see the amount knowledge people on this web site have. I'm impressed. The water cross over pipe looks like the quickest and best way to identify the Caddy from the Olds. The bolting down of the valve cover is a good second. The two good shots the model engine here, both look like Cadillacs to me. Especially the one with the Cadillac script on the valve cover. Scott
  8. Yeh, I noticed the overall lines of both cars and dash boards give away their origins. And that's one of the things that make them cool to us who grew up with the old '66 Fords here in the U.S. There are several cars like that, were the dies were shipped to South America. And built for years, sometimes with modifications, that make them slightly different from what we had. Its fun to see these cars and their variations. Thanks for sharing all three vehicles with us. As far as cats go. I too have a cat. And we all know they are totally evil and can speak in many different tongues if they wish to. But, their ultimate plans for taking over the world will not allow them to let us ever to know what they really know or can do. Don't trust them. I'm sure your seven are manipulating the dogs around you to ruin you videos. They have that power, you know. Scott
  9. Okay Harry. The ABBA ZZ Top thing is pushing it a little too far. That is terrible! Scott
  10. Wow! Very nice Fords. I especially like the looks of the '74. I noticed that car is powered by a 292? Is that a Y-block? And what about the '82 Landau? What engine is in that? I know it's not a Y-block. Interesting, the use of the Lincoln style star hood ornament and the Lincoln wheel covers on the Landau. I also really like to interior of '82. Beautiful. Very classy. And again back to the dogs. I've determined that all the dogs around here are barking in Portuguese too. And with the proper accent. Because they sound exactly like the dogs in Brazil. Several of them have the same attitude too. I didn't know our dogs around here were so talented! Or rude. Scott
  11. I have picked mine up too when painting. Again, no problems. This has got me confused. Scott
  12. So is it a Cadillac motor always? Or is there a variation with an Olds motor? I'm still not clear on this. Scott
  13. Wow! Very nice. And very fun to see. I am a little disappointed that in your case Tulio, it's not a Ford truck of some sort. I'm more of a GM guy, so I enjoyed see it. I love vehicles like this, that are just slightly different from what we have here in U.S. By the way, the dogs in the background. Are they barking in Portuguese? Because they don't sound that much different from dogs around here. Scott
  14. I'm not a big Porsche expert. But, I do know first 911 Targa's had a removable plastic window. Don't remember if the last year for that feature was 1968 or 1969. If you were going for an early open Targa, you wouldn't have to worry about a rear window at all. Scott
  15. This would be a good opportunity to build a '50 Ford club coupe. Scott
  16. Again, why does it pop off? On the one I have, I see no reason why it should. Did they maybe change this stand somewhere along the line, so it doesn't do this now? Scott
  17. Never mind my last posting here. I don't know how I missed this. Scott
  18. Me too. I normally don't bring a camera with me to car shows. And my cell phone, which I rarely carry either, doesn't have one. Scott
  19. Very nice. I'd like to see more. Do you have more photos you could share? And welcome to the group. Scott
  20. Now that I like. Beautiful. Scott
  21. Has "Little Nash Rambler" been mentioned yet? "Beep-beep, beep-beep, his horn went Beep-beep-beep." Scott
  22. That's right. I forgot about my Pyro Cord being molded in green, until you mentioned it Mike. Scott
  23. The neatest model I ever built was 4D Vision's model of the Saturn V rocket. Great detail. Pre-painted. Easy to build. And huge when it is finished. Built mine about six months ago. I loved it. They make several other kits that interest me, and I'd like to build in the future. They offer several vehicles other than the Saturn V. But, no cars I'm sorry to say. Scott
  24. I tell the kids I work with that I'm so old, that when I went to school. I rode my dinosaur back and forth to school. Up hill both ways. In a blizzard. And in my bare feet! And now I can add that I didn't have a cat to milk when I got home. Scott
  25. Why would this pop off? Is there some kind of spring in there? I have not tried separating the upper part of the stand from its base. I really haven't figured out a good reason why I would want to do this? Am I missing something here? Scott
