  1. Yea, I'm sure I don't understand how your works either. The only thing that scares me, is I kind of like it. Scott
  2. Another great kit, Revell's Volkswagon T1 "Samba Bus". They claim it's a skill level 5 kit! All I know is it's amazing. Scott
  3. Everybody keeps bring up that Modelhaus makes this or that Corvair in resin. And yes I know Modelhaus offer some of the best resin stuff out there. I've been buying stuff from them for many years now. But, the about cars I mentioned, I'd like to see full kits done styrene plastic. As good as resin can be, it's still not as easy to work with as styrene. It's also not as cheap. I do not expect to get everything I listed above in styrene. But, it would be nice. Scott
  4. Never built a Testor kit. But, I think their paint sucks too! So they must do nothing good then? Scott
  5. Oh my god! The pictures that Phillip Rowe posed of the Lindberg '48 Lincoln Continental are the first I've ever seen of that kit. Built or unbuilt. That looks bad! The exact opposite of Monogram's '41 Lincoln Continental. Wow! I'd be disappoint if I bought that. And I've thought of it a few times. Now I'm glad I didn't. Scott
  6. This is tough. A couple of weeks ago I picked up Revell/Mongram's recently retooled Rommel's Rod. I knew I'd like the kit. But, I had low expectations of it being all that nice. I've been working on the kit and am delighted by what I've found. The detail and fit of parts is really nice. And yet it's not an overly complicated kit. It looks impressive on one hand. And fun on another. I've always been impressed by Monogram's old classic car kits. Their '37 Cord 812, '41 Lincoln Continental, Duesenberg SJs, and Mercedes 540Ks. Considering the time period they were developed and designed in, these kits still hold up well today. Again, great detail and fit. And yet not too complicated to build. Which maybe the reason Rommel's Rod is such a good kit. It seems to me I've heard that they used some of the same tooling from their classic Mercedes 540K for the Mercedes end of Rommel's Rod. Scott
  7. I agree with Tom on this one. But, I love all Tamiya spray paint. I'm paint jobs have improved 100% since switching to Tamiya paint. Metallics and non metallics alike. Scott
  8. That's my fear Mike, the 20 pages of complaining. If it's wrong, I too hope they fix it to prevent the complaining. I think it looks okay as it is. But, I'm not as picky as others. Scott
  9. OK, this is one of dumbest kits I've ever seen! It's so dumb I just went on eBay and bought me one. Your evil Jim, for building such a dumb, but cool looking vehicle. Then posting on this site so a febul minded person like me could not resist buying one. Scott
  10. I'm sure your right. But, isn't that sad? And by the way, I don't think that is a new phenomenon. There have been dishonest people since the beginning of time. I only thing I can do is be as honest of a person as I can be. And even then that doesn't always work out perfectly. But, I keep trying, and overall I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it. I would try to get the $100 back to its rightful owner. Scott
  11. A.J. from Troy, MI. I noticed you use the name/handle Maxwell48098. Since you said you worked for Chrysler in the past, I'm wondering if that had influence on you picking that handle? Scott
  12. Very nice looking truck. Scott
  13. Amen! You expressed it perfectly Harry. Scott
  14. Looks pretty good to me. Scott
  15. Very nice! I'm impressed. Scott
  16. Wow! Very nice job. I love those old clam shell tailgate GM wagons. Will never forget the first one I saw. The futuristic car features they promised us in the 50's and 60's were coming true! I know there were problems with them. But, I still think they're cool. Scott
  17. I'm glad you clarified the name of the web site. I forgot the "car" part in Model Car Encyclopedia. But that is the right place. And the Barris mag is 1962, rather than 1961? So did he publish more than one issue? And the Barris issue Model Car Encyclopedia has makes it sound like it was the first issue. I have no idea. Scott
  18. No...........! Please no! Sorry but that is butt ugly. And I like Volares! The Saint Volvo P1800, like Mr. McDonald mentioned would be cool though. Scott
  19. You know my birthday is only about 5 months away. And I love Corvairs. An air conditioned Corvair no less. So if any of you want to get an early birthday gift. I'll be eternally greatfull. Scott
  20. I have only one. Are those the only wheels that come with the kit? Scott
  21. Oh, I forgot this was about magazines. I read all of the model magazines over Model Encyclopedia on line. But, they did not have complete set of some of the publications. It would be a lot of fun to be able to see and read complete collections from the 60's and 70's. Or before. By the way they do have the 1961 "Custom Car Models" by George Barris over at Model Encyclopedia. I think that first issue was the only one published. Anybody know anything about that? Scott
  22. Good old Primitive Pete. They use to show us Primitive Pete cartoons in show classes still back in the 1970's. Love them. When a friend or I either use or even contemplate using the wrong tool, I still will make reference to being Primitive Pete. Scott
