How do I remove wheels?
unclescott58 replied to Safire6's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
What happened? Did you ever get the wheels off? And can you tells more about this kit? I know it's a Triumph. But what scale? And who makes it? -
As Mark above noted, it is for sure a bumper for a JoHan '63 Chrysler 300. And a way to tell it's not Studebaker are lights in the bumper. Studebaker's at the time would not have any lights built in their bumpers. And looking in Tad Burness' American Car Spotters Bible, 1940-1980, it is for sure not Rambler either.

It shows how this situation is dominating our lives right now.

1/25 AMT 1927 Ford T Vintage Police Car
unclescott58 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Eric, thank you for sharing the above information on engines. And showing us close pictures of the decals under the cowl gas tank door, and the windshield. Those are two details I've never seen before. They are wonderful. I'm sure the the windshield one was gone on most Ts within the first month or two. The other as time wore on. Little minutia like that is fascinating to me. Even if I'll never be replicating it on a 1/25 scale model kit. -
The more I read, the more I think I misunderstood the title and purpose of this thread. Obviously my above posting is the wrong spot? There is so much here I don't understand (and I'm not just talking about this particular thread and it's recent content).

1/25 AMT 1927 Ford T Vintage Police Car

Beautiful T. The green wheels really set it off. I like that a lot. I'm curious about the engine color. Didn't some Ts in certain years have their engines painted black? And do I remember reading somewhere that some T engines were not painted at all? I'm glad you posted the above picture. For I assume '26 and '27 would both have same color engine. So it will be a good source for helping with building the '27 T kit. One last thing, what does the sticker on the lower left corner of your windshield say? By the way. As I noted, I like the contrasting wheel color. As noted above, I plan on building my T like the red seen above. But, with difference. Rather black wheels, I'll be painting mine red to match the body. -

This morning the FexEx guy left this at my backdoor. It's a Neo die-cast 1/43 scale Chevrolet Corvair 95 Corvair. I was so impressed with the 2 other Neo Corvair 95s, the Greenbrier and Rampside Pickup, I got a few weeks ago, I decided I wanted the van version too. Lovely models all three. Fantastic detail. Some of the nice 1/43 models I've ever seen. I would not hesitate buying others of their models down the road. In fact. I wonder if they have any Edsels?

I'm very please today! I just got off the phone with my direct supervisor asking if I was willing to come back to work in the school I work at this next fall, they would love to have me come back. I had no problem answering that question with an affirmative. Despite everything that's happened this year. I love my job. And am more than willing to go back. So back to torturing the brats next fall. Or is that them torturing me? I can never keep that straight. ?

Beautiful job. Black is a prefect color for this car.

In today's mail I got a kit I didn't even know existed until a week ago. It turns out that Hasegawa offers a 1/24 scale kit of an American market 1972 Datsun 240Z. The 240Z is one of those few Japanese cars I've always liked. The trouble with most models of the car, with the exception of the older Revell kit, is they almost always represent Japanese versions of the car, with RH drive. As noted, the Revell version at least represents the car as seen over here. I have built one in the past. And it's a nice kit. But, the one thing that's always bothered me about that kit, is that it could never be built completely stock. Revell's kit can almost be built stock, except one thing. The wheels. Revell's 240Z represents a day 2 car. Where the stock wheel covers have been exchanged for aftermarket wheels. The stock wheel covers were so unpopular, that you rarely saw a 240Z at the time, or now for that matter, with the them. Well guess who liked those wheel covers? Me. And the Hasegawa kit has them. So I had to buy this kit as soon as found out about it. A U.S. spec Datsun 240Z with the factory wheel covers. Plus I love the color blue. So the box art too, caught my attention. I'm going to attempt to build the the exterior of car close to the box art as I can. The only change from the box art, is I'll being doing the interior in black. I've never like the looks of white interiors. Plus in real life, they never seem to stay clean for very long. Yech. By the way, I even like the chessy looking outside mirror those cars came with. I feel it's in perfect harmony with over all beautiful look of car. Simple and clean.

And you Mr. Hall keep sticky you foot into it, from what I can see. Some of us do read and want other's help. But, at the same time, if we don't agree with you, or understand you, or what ever else, you do not need to insult us like it appears with this latest comment.

Mr. Keyser, I do apologize. It's sometimes tough to tell on here whether somebody is joking or being serious. Without facial or body language, or voice inflection to fall back on, it's not always clear. There have been several times when I've made innocent comments that have been taken wrong.
