1/16 truck tires

Yeah, Bud....I think we've all noticed the lack of drive tires for just about ANY scale.....Even KJ has inquired about making some duals in 1/16 scale......I like those supers, though....And the fronts.....They look good.... -

Looking good, Man.... I'm with you on your thinking regarding paint....I have to use primer, for the paint I use....Krylon, Rustoleum, and such, but I know the more I try to get things evened out the worse it gets.....I've screwed some decent paint jobs up trying to make it "a little bit better".....I used Testors spray paints for a while, but I get way more for my money with the conventional cans.....So I learned to use those, but I liked the fact that you could spray the Testors paints right on the model without primer..... This one has a great start.... -

Man, this looks good....Lots of nice work I can see, here..... You might try spraying some clear over that paint that won't dry....Some dull cote, maybe.... -

These are some pretty nice builds, Man....That Road Boss build is my kind of truck....I really like that sleeper you put on the back.....I hope your battle with cancer is truly over....I pray The Lord will keep you free and clear....The Petes and that Diamond Reo look pretty awesome, as well.....But if I had to pick a favorite, I'd say that Road Bull, hands down....Would love to see some more of your builds..... -
Cool idea for a load/trailer
kilrathy10 replied to fantacmet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Giant robot....Hmmm....Never would have thought of that.....Definitely could be a cool load....I wonder how heavy the real one is.... -
That is awesome, Brent.....I built a model similar to that one a while back.....Hope to show it, this spring at contest.....I used a Freightliner for mine, though.....Built it similar to this one..... Most of the guys have seen the thread, but here it is, if you're interested.... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93773

kilrathy10 replied to gotnitro?'s topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Outstanding build, Man.....I've seen a couple examples of similar Lonestar wrecker builds and this on ranks up there with the best of them.....Very well executed....The decals are beautiful and the bumper work really stands out.....Excellent job.... -

An absolute wonderful and imaginative model.....Loved watching this one come together and your efforts have truly paid off.....Excellent use of the Italeri road displays......I always thought they were a little on the expensive side, so I never bothered with them, but they look very good.....Very good.....That looks like a piece of roadway from up the street......Just a tremendous job all around.....Beautiful..... -

Man, that's an ugly truck.....But with a name like Bruiser, what did you expect, right...?? Great job on this bad boy....Excellent weathering.....Looks like it just got a new set of mud flaps, this week.. ...Great job... -
Custom stretch chassis trucks
kilrathy10 replied to rsxse240's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Don't sell yourself short, C.....You've got some good stuff going on over there.....I love this forum, as it really gives a guy some good ideas and challenges one to build better models....Gained a lot of valuable skills carousing all the posts of some very skillful builders..... As for the chassis stretch, I'm a BIG fan....That KW and Pete can be built up nicely.....Can't beat the price....Clayton's stretch is about the easiest way to do it....I don't think I could offer anything better, technique wise.....But I did build this with about a 1" stretch....And used the kit wheels and tires...... -
italeri tires
kilrathy10 replied to guitarsam326's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know most of the Italeri European trailers come with triple axle supers.....They're not, exactly, the same profile as the ones seen around here, but they do look OK on certain rigs.....The fact that they fit on the 22.5 rims OR the trailer rims works to our advantage.....No modifications.....Just slap them on.....I used them on the front of this Western Star.... -
Dodge 9 Car Transporter

It looks Great, Dan.....Gonna wow 'em for sure, this April.....Awesome work....Awesome work.....With 9 Mopars on the back, no telling how long this model, Actually, took you to build.....From the first car to the truck, I'm sure you'd have to think back quite a while....
