  1. Good stuff, here, Man...Excellent work....
  2. Very nice work.....Just love these stock cars.....
  3. I imagine a little Armour All would be a decent idea....They do seem to split in one spot, after a while on the shelf, but are easily replaced, as they come off and remount pretty easily....It's funny....It's like I drove them 70,000 miles and had to change them out.....Just like a real truck.....
  4. Very nice work and detail....Definitely something I've never seen before.....I don't even think I'd attempt this kind of detail at 1/16 scale.....A marvel to behold, for sure.....
  5. Excellent work.....Very nice weathering.....Beautiful scratch build.....
  6. This is one awesome, if not time consuming, project....Excellent work, Man.....I do not have the patience for all that....Amazing.....I guess that's what separates us regular guys and guys like you ....Beautiful..... And where did you get that pin vice....
  7. Awesome work, Man....Just beautiful....Nice....
  8. Nice work.....Very nice color and display....Great conversion.....Looks great as a daycab.....
  9. I thought I had, actually....I'll have to check, Dan...
  10. The paint methods you both mention are great ways to paint, but I've never been able to get consistent results using them.....So now, I prime EVERYTHING flat black....The reason for this is pretty simple.....It makes the brighter colors seem even brighter, and where the recessed corners and edges meet, it produces a natural shadow....So I don't have to add a black wash to make them more prevalent....They're already there.....It's just like Alclad's method for their chrome....It takes a little practice and unlearning what has been learned, but with the cheaper and more abundant paints like Krylon, Duplicolor, and Rustoleum, it works very well...Making for a better chance for success.....For the more expensive paints, I'm not sure, but I'm willing to bet it does.... Don't mean to turn your awesome build thread into a paint discussion.....I just had to chime in with my 2 cents, I guess....I don't mean any harm....
  11. This is a great looking model....I've, recently, purchased one of these and I'm going to get another one.....I have to have a duplicate, before I attempt to build a kit for the first time.....Yours is quite exceptional.....I like the choice of blue.....Very nice....
  12. Excellent work on this one, Man....Very nice....I really like the tractor.....Nice, Nice, Nice.....The trailer is quite good, too....Great work on the spread....
  13. I believe PVC pipe will be the way to go with this, also.....Best way to do it without sacrificing a tanker kit, but those kits aren't that great as a tanker model, anyway....You can get 2 tanks for trucks out of it and use the chassis for an acid tanker or belly dump or something....So you really wouldn't lose any money on it....There's always something you can do with spare parts.....You could, even, trade them off.....
  14. That, actually looks pretty cool....I had a dog that ate one of the fairings on a Freightliner FLD, once....I had to totally rebuild the front portion of the fairing from scratch....Came out pretty good.....Sorry to hear about the demise of yours, though....Bad Puppy....
  15. Looking good, Man.....Before you paint it, might I suggest that you trim the lip on the front of the cab where the hood makes contact down about an 1/8 of an inch so the hood will sit level.....One of the mods that I intend to mention on my Lonestar recovery vehicle.....I totally forgot to mention this, as I was in a bit of a hurry and forgot.....You'll notice that the hood has an unsightly space between it and the cab.....Otherwise, this should be a great build for you....Gonna look GOOD!!!!
  16. Hey, Oscar, I'm with the other guys in that the AMT flatbed would be the best kit for you to get after, next.....It's simplicity and relatively low price would be a good fit for you.....And, yes, the Testors kits are pretty lame.....Totally don't recommend those....But, even the new Moebius 53' trailer is pretty straight forward.....Just might cost a little more than you may want....Around $45....Still not bad for what you get, though....
  17. Outstanding build, Man....I like the extended drops....Very nice work on the whole thing....Just a beautiful build....
  18. Thought I already commented on this one.....Must have been the other forum..... As usual, this beast is an awesome spectacle.....More beautiful work done here than can be fathomed....
  19. Stacks look good.....That's what you do, man....Use whatever works.....That's a good tip.....Gonna have to borrow that one....
  20. That's a good looking model, my friend.....Great scratchwork...
  21. This is awesome work, Man....You're definitely getting there.....This is an awesome first effort....
  22. Looking pretty good, Man....Don't lose heart....Keep it going.....The finished product, as you know, is what you're always shooting for.....
  23. You're looking good, Man....I really like your idea....I'm with you....I've never seen anyone build one of these in 1/16 scale, before, either....The project is looking great.....Opening doors and all....I like the direction you're going with it.....Any idea on what colors you'll be using....??? Should make for a very nice piece of work, either way.....
  24. Thanks, Guys for the quick feedback.....I'm definitely gonna display this without the roof fairing, Travis, but I went ahead and prepped it, just in case....What part of Texas you from, Man??? And, you're right, Henry....That part of the wall needs to be painted....Not sure why I haven't, yet.... Sean, my wife says my not paying enough attention to her is why I can get these things done so quickly.....I wonder why she said that?? And, thanks Jonathon, Jesse, and Carl....I appreciate your positive comments....
