  1. Thanks guys, yes Richard it is. I love it too. M2 did a nice job. That and the '67 Firebird are on my detail list.
  2. Love it.
  3. Thanks Marty. I appreciate it.
  4. Sounds like a cool conversion Richard. This is similar in size to the 1/24 '64 GTO, that's why i'm using the chassis from it. It slips in perfectly. You can see a hint of the red past the front fender. I had a Maisto but it was smaller in size, plus I knew I could make a nicer one out of the kit. The Monogram '64 GTO matches my Franklin Mint '64 GTO convertible to a T size wise. Here are some comparison pics of the GTO's and the GTO versus Chevelle. 5. Thanks guys, I understand Richard. I collect 1/24 diecast and build mostly 1/24 kits. '66 is my favorite year Chevelle and I knew the only way to get a stock looking 1/24 version would be to build my own lol..
  6. Just got this in paint this afternoon. It started out as the street machine kit. I reworked the tilt front end by filling in where the scoop was with a stock SS insert then grafted the nose on to the body. A lot of filling and sanding took place as well. I'm gonna go with some stock '69 SS wheels and tires, I just like the look of those. Done in Madeira Maroon. I love this color. I'm also using the Monogram '64 GTO chassis as they are very similar in design & same wheelbase. this is just the rough preliminary pics so be easy on me lol.[;)][:D]
  7. Thank you all, the chassis and associated items are painted, Got to get the interior painted as well. It'll be a darker blue. May get that done tonite.
  8. Thanks guys, she still needs to be cleared and polished.
  9. Thank you my friend. Your Cougar build is my inspiration.
  10. Thanks Jim, this is the color of the '69 Cougar my dad had when I was a kid.
  11. Thanks Don, yes, coat hangers work great. I just bend it to fit.
  12. Thanks guys, yes Curt, it's straight from the can. I always sit it in a bowl of warm water for awhile. The paint flows a lot better when it's warm. Bruce, you got it. I'll get it cleared and polished after I let the paint cure for a couple of weeks.
  13. JC, it's Tamiya Light Metallic Blue.
  14. Finally had weather warm enough to get the color shot. I think it's a pretty close match. Next is getting the chassis and interior ready for paint.
  15. Thanks Steve, I fight that from time to time. It is a great tip.

  20. Thanks guys, Yes Charlie, it sure is lol.
  21. Kinda of gives it a classic Jaguaresque look for a different kind of cat. It'll be Bright Blue metallic like my dad's real Cougar he had. Like the one pictured, which is Not my dad's, just that color.
  22. Love them Mopars. Nice one Michelle.
  23. Fantastic Jim, I have the Monogram '70 GTX in the works.
  24. Looks great to me. I'm doing one of those conversions as well. I'm using the Monogram '64 GTO chassis to make a stock '66 Chevelle out of the Monogram Chevelle Street Machine, it's coming along quite nicely.
  25. Looks great so far. Love the color.
