  1. Those whitewalls finish it beautifully. Where did you get them? That vinylnation thing only gets a link to goofy figurines... mike
  2. It's 1/24 Carl, according to the box. It's beautifully detailed; flocking, working steering, suspension, seat belts, engine wiring and even a wix decal on the remote filter... go figure By far the nicest in their line up, wish their '66 F100 that I picked up a few years ago had this level of detail. Guess I like it even more because it isn't blue like every other one... mike
  3. Checking out a small town parts store today on a whim, I picked up this little gem... ...like the old song goes 'just one look'... mike
  4. The only thing on the chassis they've changed from this pic... ..is the substitution of a nine inch diff for the dana mike
  5. Beautifully finished, Chuck ! mike
  6. Great concept, Kerry Good luck with the paint.... mike
  7. wow, that extra bottom chrome on that blk/wht shortbox doesn't do much for it... mike
  8. Wow, Chuck, that's beautifully done mike
  9. Well, one year's not too bad... been almost four for the '71 mike
  10. I've seen nothing further on that or a resin corrected box. Guess we're on our own as far as that goes... mike
  11. Regarding the reduced chrome in the '77, probably something to do with their plastic allocation; add new parts, take away some old parts. As the box topper was added to the '77 annual, I guess they thought the extra chrome pieces could be eliminated. The boonie boss was a similar situation. Even that doesn't explain why we've been gypped out of the extra pieces on the star truk chrome shot for the regular '75 and '76 annuals though... mike
  12. That would be this one... mike
  13. Sure they are but if a guy hadn't actually seen the horrendous actual buildup, the strong nostalgic suggestion in the artist's rendering would make it a very appealing subject to buy As for that '71' lindberg kit, it's obviously cribbed from either the amt or mpc 69 mustang body... wonder if there's enough front end there to use to make a stab at correcting the 69 revell 'approximation'... mike
  14. Looks like it... ...right from the first time they showed up in the boonie boss. Sure would have been nicer if they'd sourced wheels from the '79 bronco... ...along with some of the other more accurate pieces from it. Too bad we didn't get this thread started sooner. We might have helped R2 make a better kit mike
  15. I sure as heck know which one of these I'd buy if I hadn't seen the other one... mike
  16. I have the reliable resins 67/68 (can't remember which) body and did that comparison a coupe of years ago. They were pretty close to identical with the previously noted exceptions mike
  17. ...and iirc, the only difference in the body shell aside from the molded closed hood was the larger rear wheel openings... mike
  18. Some awesome work there, Geral....oops, I mean Harry All the best in the new year... mike
  19. Seems to me that so-called 'jack wagons' like Bill are the main reason 'Made in the USA' ever came to stand for anything at all. Guys that are doing their best with the talents bestowed upon them with sometimes limited resources to keep the hobby going are the ones we owe thanks to.
  20. The bass boat trailers have a pretty large area of diamond plate decking if it can't be found elsewhere.... mike
  21. I'm just wondering here; how about using the amt chevy van for a front frame clip donor? mike
  22. Modelhaus currently has a '57 Mercury truck in the catalogue and the tailgate is available separately so you may be able to adapt it. As for hood letters, it would be great to see a photo etch set of both the '53-'56 and the '65-'68 letters... otherwise, we'll just have to cut them out of chrome tape Looks like this reissue has the custom chevy fenders restored; one of the reissues I have with the blue truck on the box didn't have them. mike
  23. Gorgeous ranchero. I dearly wish I could say that delivery is mine, Mike. Mine was identical, though, in dark green with a 260 3 spd. I'm working at finessing a JF '61 roof onto a trumpeter ranchero body (about the only thing worth salvage from that kit) right now. (Sorry for the extra clutter in the pic) Regarding the resin casting; I was under the impression Mr Ellifrit had a converted box almost ready to cast months ago... The reissued revell torino has a nice dual exhaust that, with finessing, should be usable under many other projects and that 429 will make a nice stand-in for a 460 in an upcoming truck build mike
  24. Great work on blending those parts I believe Mr Hamilton has done a conversion using the new revell body mike
