  1. It's plain that to those who know these trucks there are disappointments and corrections that will need to be made for the accuracy some want. Moebius may or may not want to revisit this to make running changes. Until then, maybe it would be a better idea for you to sell or trade this present kit, Roger, like you did the meng F350 if it sends you into such a tailspin of despair... mike
  2. Hope that gravity thing and maybe some hot water will help this '69... came through positioned wrong in the box but the '71 was okay... mike
  3. Here's a breakdown of the Night Rider kit... thought I'd better get these pics before I start using the parts on other projects... mike
  4. pic I took at a swap meet... how many of you had Dukes bed sheets? mike
  5. Good day at garage sales... netted me a few good kits, a vw promo (1/40 361 wagon) and a mint 1/18 metropolitan diecast mike
  6. Better this way (except for the doors)... you can make your own groove mike
  7. Well, that's a pretty exhaustive list but, yes, you did miss a couple of things ... Having a 1:1 driver of my own gives me an easy reference but even that didn't make me want to go into histrionics over corrections I may need to do. Buildups of both test shots and the final kits prove this can be turned out as a striking model. I understand there's room for legitimate discussion of pros and cons here but I hope this can be done without all the shrieking, caterwauling and drama queening that has characterized threads of this nature... or do we roll our eyes and say 'good luck with that' mike
  8. Or more accurately, why he thinks it's unbuildable... mike

  10. I was hoping post #203 would be a hint for reference material.... mike
  11. hmmmm.... seems the pot thinks the kettle is very black.... mike
  12. The '68 and '69 grills are identical in scale... only the paint patterns would be different mike
  13. I think he's talking about the XLT woodgrain tailgate insert. Makes sense to shave the letters before applying the woodgrain decal. Be interesting to see if a guy could foil the letters and shave them off in one piece. They could then be applied on top of the decal... Hopefully someone will come up with a photoetch set for these mike
  14. The rear chrome sport bumper from the amt F350 kits would most likely work too. I don't know about a 'steadier hand', Chuck, but here's how my grill turned out... ... and here's the F100 hubcaps you need... got mine (three sets!) from Don and Kevin has them too apparently mike
  15. Happy Father's Day to my dad and all of you experiencing the joys and heartaches that go with it... mike
  16. That robot in the previous pic reminded me of this one I saw at the '96 Detroit auto show... mike
  17. possibly modelhaus.... ...yep, definitely Modelhaus just got some today... mike
  18. ... for a few things There's close to a dozen details that distinguish these from the rest of its '68 - '72 brothers. Stuff like door handles, trim, heater controls, wiring, etc mike
  19. The '78/'79 parts might work, but they wouldn't be accurate for a newer F150. The front axle design was different from '80-'96. mike
  20. Third times the charm That paint really adds appeal; now you've got me looking for one... Great work, Ray mike
  21. Just to whet your appetites... mike
  22. Very nice work, Bill mike
