Cool, I think Santa would love it! Now, you just need to make a whole bunch more of the little parcels and a sack...
-
So that means I'm sitting on a gold mine......? Got a mint boxed unbuilt '63 on the shelf.....hehe, and it'll stay there. I've got some other stuff I might put out on ebay.....
-
Looks real good with the engine in it. You know, your build-up got me buying two of these kits! I have built the street rod box stock. Body is hot rod primer, and gloss black fenders.
-
That's a really wild Merc! A lot of cool details. I discovered the "Moon disc" trick a long time ago, but wasn't smart enough to save the bottoms of soda or beer cans, 'cus they didn't have the embossed numbers like today's cans.....
-
Ohh, I love it! The Cheetah is one of my favorite cars. Have a COX slot car that I have collected parts for. It's really just a matter of putting it together..... Now with the red paint on, it really comes to life! I'll be following this with great interest.

Looks cool, but lose the wing.....

Wow, that's a great looking engine! Ol' Hank Borger of Car Model magazine would be proud. My favorite writer at the time. He liked to build AMC models, some very radical! How about a rear engined Javelin with "Experimental" 16 plug AMC Hemi.....? I think it was called Ghost Dancer.

Cool! The gold looked better though.....

'32 Chevy Panel Tru...delivery...campmobile??
Modellpularn replied to Modellpularn's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hej JAFFA, man didn't you read the text? The car IS a '32 CHEVY!! Look at the grille and hood, doesn't look like a Ford, now does it?? -
Yeah man, cool idea! I've got that body also. What kit did you use for the front axle? Chassis? Hey, your worktable looks very much like mine...LOL Why is it that we have a big table or desk, but it's crammed with all kinds of stuff and junk, so we only have a small space to work on the models....strange, or lets say... artistic....?!
-
Looks mean, man! Will be bad ass when finished.

Here's something I felt I had to a makeover of, the dreaded "Barnabas Vampire van" Not very popular with Tim Boyd.... Anyway, a friend on our swedish model forum built a cool car using this reissued kit. Being a '32 Chevy from the start, I was kind of curious as how much the panel truck body was messed up. It fits perfectly on the '32 Chevy roadster fenders, because the wheel wells are intact. So I just mocked up the remaining body parts, and stuck some wire wheels under it. What do you think about it? I'm thinking of using the six out of a '37 Chevy, it has a lot of cool engine parts. Classy rod hearse, delivery, or....err..campmobile??

I like this one too! Good idea turning it into a stocker. This later set - green wheels look much better with blackwalls also, keep it like this!

The Rodder's Journal
Modellpularn replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My latest issue is # Thirty Seven, it has James Hetfield's Buick on one cover(back), and a 1935 Ford on the front, but it can be the other way around also. -
The Rodder's Journal
Modellpularn replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, it's the greatest hot rod book! I have all the issues from #1..... Recently renewed my subscription for another year! -
Wow, that's really beautiful! Looks so 60's with that paint. Kind of looks like the paint on my Li'l Merrod...not quite finished yet. Keep up the good work!

That thing is wild and insane! I recall seeing some of this before, I really like the interior. How did you do the pleats, Evergreen sheet with special buttons...?
-
Thanks for your input guys! I tried to do the flat tires, but perhaps thought of as a last minute detail before a model contest Sept. 29th. I put the chassis on my electric stove, but it warped the chassis, and didn't leave a mark in the tires.... So what to do, still use some heat source like a soldering iron??

Well folks, my "quickie" job with the Cobra is mostly finished. I might add some little detail, but here's how it looks now:
-
Could it be the Fujimi kit that's been repopped? Then it's 1/24.
-
Hej Olle! Nice 'Vette. The rear valence should have a cut-out on the inside for the chrome surround. But that opening looks very small for the exhaust tip.....
-
This is a "quickie job" I started last week. That's when I got the idea of actually doing something with the wrecked paint removal project..... See, it was decided in our slot club to start a Cobra class, using Kyosho Mini Z bodies. Cool! One of the guys made a deal with a LHS so we could buy the "display cars" They have a very simple chassis. The cars come in silver or blue, and I wanted the blue one, but they were all gone. Ok so I'll get a silver, strip the paint and repaint it orange or red..... So off came the chrome parts, and into the brake fluid/alcohol mix it went. I checked on it, and sure enough, the paint started to bubble. After an hour or so, I picked it up. Disaster!! The plastic was all soft and weird! This type of plastic doesn't like my special "brew" So I had to buy a new car, and this time I got the blue one..... What to do with the wrecked body? Last week I got the crazy idea of turning it into a "resto object". So I went to work using the Rust-All kit I bought years ago. Seems the fluid evaporates from the jars, so don't let it sit too long! Maybe I went overboard, since these cars had aluminum bodies.......? What do you guys think? It's not finished yet, still have to add the dead flat and dust coatings.
-
Wow Harry, you've really added a lot of details! Those swing out rear windows with latches are truly mind-boggling! However, I noticed something you missed; the carb flanges should have two bolts each, where the air cleaner is attached. I have an old friend who specializes in SU carbs, in fact he has a business called SU Service not too far away from where I have the summer house. Since you have added so many other details, I think you need to add some more. Check your reference photos..... and if you want, Google SU Service. Sorry, all the text is in swedish. Not sure if he's got an english version.

Revell '66 El Camino 2n1 "California Wheels"
Modellpularn replied to LOBBS's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Too bad they didn't opt for the custom wheels from the '59 Corvette. Those are really nice!! I could use quite a few sets of those wheels.... I have plans for the first issue, with some five spoke wheels....
