  1. I belong to a club called Stockholm Slotcar Club, and have been a member almost since the club was formed in early 2000. We run the saloon cars - Champion chassis, and replica NASCAR 1/24 cars. They have a Sakatsu chassis. And sometimes some guys run the "wing cars". Here's some pics of the track we have at our club, six lane, 40 meters long, approx. 120 feet. Built by Hasse Nilsson in 2000, so it's called The Millennium Track. I had ads from old Car Model magazines enlarged and laminated. They add to the atmosphere, I think.
  2. Compare it with this, built gasser style.
  3. Ohh, it's very clean! Just out of the box and with a new body, cool... Chevelle looks good!
  4. Hmmm, I've got that one also, in about the same condition as well! That was the first one I bought. Oh yes, it was a gold mine for us hardcore modelers/slotracers over here. Some of the stuff was unheard of for us. I also have a few older issues, given to me by an older model building friend.
  5. This is one of my favorite models, and I did some sneaky mods to it. Some you can spot at once, others are not noticed at all, but they're there....
  6. What's that, San Diego vibes?? Pics, music, or a little of both?
  7. Neat cars!! Zeb; that system you talk about kind of reminds me of a slot track called Wrenn Formula 152. We had that track, my dad bought it. The cars were in 1/52 scale, and they had a clever system so you could run THREE cars on each lane! You could position the brushes either close together, or wide, or at an angle; left or right. The track had four power rails for each lane. That way you could run up to SIX cars on a two lane track!
  8. WOW!!!! You have built some gorgeous cars!!! I love the Chaparrall and my favorite; the Cheetah. I'm a big fan of the COX cars, I have a partly restored 2D, and a Cheetah body kit with spare chassis parts. Again, simply stunning slot cars!!!! 8)
  9. Yes Zeb, that's the one! I've been there four times with my friends to race the Northland 500. Matthias Parke is the NASCAR Champion, he wins the race every year!. It's his home track, so I guess he has a lot of laps under his belt, thousands by now.... I managed to finish 2nd in 2004, but after that lucky year it's all gone downhill! But last year wasn't all bad, 'cus one of my friends finished in 2nd place, and yet another friend qualified in pole position. But his car also slowed down. Hmmm.... We will most likely go there again this summer. I need to prepare my car, the Rusty Wallace Dodge some more, and do some "minor adjustments"... That's an expression Juha Airio likes to use, and it usually involves rebuilding or scratchbuilding something like the front suspension or so....
  10. Isn't the red one a '61 or '62? I think the early cars had those wheel covers.
  11. How come so many of these models have been painted orange or some similar shade? I've got one, but I'm not sure what color it's going to be. Played around with blue, like Sunoco....
  12. Probably just fragments left. Haven't anyone ever tried to replicate this car? I mean today with all the great bodymen... It would be interesting to know.
  13. Big deal, it's just a Pinto.... but I'd get a bit upset if it was a '71 Vega.... go figure, eh?
  14. The truck looks great, especially outdoors! Those shots would definately fool an untrained person.
  15. Strange, this one's giving me the dreaded red X's
  16. Somehow, "Zingers", or those Mild or Wild versions from MPC come to mind when I see this...this would be the Wild version I guess... Sorry, I'm not too fond of those Donk thingies. And those stupid "lowriders"? with the wheels sticking out of the body 3-4 inches!? Oh, come on! I saw some while visiting in the Carolinas in '95.
  17. Hmmm, what's this; "Antique Roundup" ??? How about you post this stuff under "General"....
  18. Wow, very nice!! I built that kit many years ago, still have the model in my showcase. Maybe I should take a pic and show it...?
  19. Oh yeah, I like it a lot, Steve!!! Nice color, sits right and all. Way 8)
  20. Yeah, the engine looks very realistic, with the black center section and the silver side pieces. Your build up made me drag my kit out of the shelf. My body has had those dash hooks cut off, are they really necessary? If so, I guess I'll have to make some new ones. Eventually....
  21. Yeah, my vote goes to the Ghia once again. We share the same taste, daddy o' Darryl O....
  22. Hey Zeb, thanks! That Dodge body is soo thick, we have to thin it. I had plastic shavings/dust all over the place after going at it with the grinder. If you click on my photobucket link, and then go to Rusty Wallace Dodge, you'll see what I did to the body, and not to mention the driver....
  23. Zeb, you're onto something here, they are now called A-traktor. Why don't we wait and see what ol' JAFFA has to say about this??
  24. Hey guys, now you're hijackin the thread! Send a pm if you want to talk about something else, ok?!
  25. I think I have found most of my Holy Grails: Uncertain T, Monogram '55 Chevy - PC83, '66 Impala HT, the Aurora Double kits, Little T, AMT '28 tudor, Big Drag, MPC '32 Chevy panel truck, and a few others.... Check my photobucket link; My model collection.
