  1. Shoulda lengthened the driveshaft, oops.
  2. Had a lot of fun building this one. It's the Model King/AMT Comet bashed with the drivetrain & chassis from a Revell Thunderbolt. MCW resin hood, Modelhaus Howard Competition mags, Slixx decals. Raised the suspension for a more accurate stance. Parts box front tires (could be a little narrower but I'm ok with 'em) and created just enough room for the rear slicks to tuck into the fenders without rubbing. Interior wise all I added was a clutch pedal, shifter, and tach. For the rear quarter windows I trimmed down the Thunderbolt units. The 427 was treated to coil & ignition wires, and a set of stamped "Mercury" valve covers from a AMT '66 Parklane. I was kinda irked that I had forgotten to remove the chrome caps on the front fenders, but I'll live with it. She's not 100%, but close enough for me. I wanted to take some outdoor pics, but didn't want to take it out into the 15 degrees and wind so I made do with some pics by a living room window, along with a couple others that came out kinda dark. Not sure why, but the red areas on the car look kinda blotchy (at least on my computer) and don't know why. Tried uploading them twice to photobucket with the same results both times. The actual pics look clear and just fine, so who knows?......... a few more shortly....
  3. Killer build Aaron! Paint, detail, stance, there isn't anything not to love about it.
  4. That turned out great, what a beast!!
  5. Awesome paint and build Chris! Very clean! I have yet to tackle one of these Polar Lights floppers, but will one of these days.......
  6. Beautiful build Steve, probably the best one of this kit I've seen. Congrats and keep warm!
  7. Amazing paint and beautiful work!

    Camaro Street

Super sharp, the dare to be different approach definitely worked.
  9. "Maybe poker's just not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest!"
  10. I'm going to say Dumb And Dumber
  11. Oh yeah that's nice! Great work.
  12. Thanks guys. Yeah this model is a little more special to me than all my others, hopefully I can keep it in good shape for many years to come. The design of this plane just screams speed, still pretty amazing this bomber flew from LA to NYC in just a tick over 2hrs.
  13. I don't think I've ever posted this build before. I was doing some cleaning, and afterwards decided to take this bird outside for a few pics. It is not a recent build however, but was built back in the summer of 1996. I was fresh out of high school and my dad was battling cancer. He was sick enough to the point where he was unable to build his models anymore and had asked me if I would build the B-58 for him. I gladly obliged, and dug it out of his stash. I did the best I could at the time (I was 18) and got it done in a couple months. He was happy with how it turned out and proud of the work I did, which made me feel good in return. He ended up passing away that October, so I was extremely happy that he got to see it finished, as it was one of his favorite birds of all-time, as it is mine, too. As for the build it is box stock, and believe all the paint is Testors. It has withstood the test of time pretty well, only having to reattach a few bits that had broken off. I wouldn't mind finding another one of these to build some day, even though it's size takes up a lot of acreage. Anyways, on to the pics....
  14. Very sharp build! While this kit is pretty simplified, it can build into a good looking model, just as you have proven here.
  15. Awesome Camaro, Shane! I've always liked the look with the front bumper deleted, too.
  16. Excellent work Randy, she's a beauty! Thanks for the heads up on the minor fitment issues.
  17. Excellent build Randy! Your paint and foil work are fabulous, as always, and an inspiration. I'll do the same grille fix whenever I get my hands on one of these.
  18. Beautiful build.
  19. Haha that is awesome! Looks spot on, nice work. I've always been a big fan of the show, and this is from one of their best episodes IMHO.
  20. Sharp build, love those Rebels.
  21. Awesome build and fabulous detailing!
  22. Super sharp build. Man, that burnt orange sure looks sharp. My uncle has a '72 Rally (silver with black interior and stripes) and back in the day he had it set up very similar to your build.
  23. That paint is stunning! Very nice work Raoul.
  24. Ahhh...I see, thanks for the heads-up Bill. I was unaware that this one was shop built and might have been prepped differently from the hardtops.
  25. Wish I had taken better ones, but here are a few shots I took when I saw it last year. If it's actually how it was back in 65 I'm not sure. Sending you a PM, too.
