  1. Your persistence and patience has paid off, as that is one terrific looking model! Glad you were able to finish it, congrats!
  2. Super sharp build, Gary. You've done this one justice, not a bad kit considering it's age. I also built one in Prairie Bronze with a tan interior, as an R-code 427.
  3. Very cool and nice work. I had never seen that show truck before.
  4. I have yet to put a lot of thought into which route would be best, but think I'd modify the Bronco body. Take the front clip off the F250 and graft it onto the Bronco, as well as cab from the lower chrome trim down. The same would have to be done for the back half of the Bronco using the truck's box (obviously not all of the bed length would be needed). The taillights and tailgate would need to be changed, too. I know the dash and door panels would have to be used from the truck, but believe the rest of the interior would be ok as is. It would be a lot of work, but it could be done. One could also shorten the bed on the F250 the appropriate amount, and mold it into the cab. The greenhouse from the Bronco could be swapped on (or just the rear section of it). Don't know how well that would go, though. A lot to ponder.......
  5. Nice conversion Kyle, I dig it. Always cool to be able to build replica of something you own/owned. Fellow Ford guy here too. Some day I'd like to kitbash these same kits to build a 87-91 Bronco.
  6. Thanks for all the good words guys. I really like this color blue as well, even though the pics make the blue to be a little brighter than it actually is. I read your sig, nice group of rigs you have there! Yeah the Explorers have always been overlooked. I had a '95 Sport that I put through quite a bit of bushwhacking, liked it till the 4.0 went south. Thanks Chuck. I remember that Explorer you SAS'd, very cool and inspiring. I want to get another of these kits and do the same, as well as dropping in a 5.0 or 4.6.
  7. Finished this up for a community build on another forum. I built it as a daily driver/weekend warrior. AMT kit, painted Dupli-Color Medium Blue Metallic. The BFG's are from Fireball Modelworks and the wheels came from (I believe) an AMT '90-somethin' F150. Other than that, and the suspension lift, the rest of the build was kept stock. After taking the pics, I see I've got a few touch-ups to do yet that I had overlooked. A better shot of the interior while it was still a wip. I didn't bother smoothing the seams on the seatbacks as they cannot be seen through the tinted windows.
  8. Simply outstanding Sean, congrats!
  9. Very nice for sure!
  10. Sharp build Smelly. This brings back some memories for me, as when I was a kid I built this kit in the same colors (Testors Sapphire Blue, very similar), even sporting the Keystones as well. Your's is much better than what mine was though lol.
  11. I'm blown away by your work Fred! This is looking awesome. I love those door sill plates.
  12. Superb build, Mark.
  13. Very sharp build. That paint sure has some shine to it, nice!
  14. Very nice! During WWII my Grandpa was a mechanic on the Liberators.
  15. You sure did a great job, as it looks amazing. I've pulled this kit out of the stash only to put it back far too many times. This might just be the inspiration I need to actually start it, maybe sometime this year. Thanks for mentioning the issues you faced with this kit, I'll definitely keep them in mind.
  16. Truly beautiful work, and I love that two tone.
  17. That's sooo cool! Nice work. With his hat on the antenna, I wonder what the Bandit could be up to? Lol
  18. Very nice Bee.
  19. Thanks again everyone for the comments. These kits are some of my favorites to build.
  20. Sweet overhaul! It looked good before, but this is a huge improvement. I'm biased though, lifted trucks are my thing. Wish I could help you with the tail lights.
  21. Welcome back to the hobby James. Looks like your off to a good start, I like the purple. That Willys is a good kit, and choice, for getting back into building. Oh yeah, I love your avatar! Lol
  22. Well done, and a great color choice.
