  1. Chris, Very nice Lonestar wrecker. Ken.
  2. Chuck, Very nice truck. I had to go back and look at it several times. It's so clean looking and the colour set it off just right. Like a real nice restoration on a 1:1 you would see at a truck show. Very nice can't wait to see the rest of it. Kenny B
  3. I like it. Needs more dirt on the cab I think. But it looks real nice. Kenny B
  4. Excellent work. Very nice attention to the detail. Sure is a truck to be proud of for sure. Kenny B.
  5. Dennis, SNAP KIT??? If you didn't say it was I wouldn't have ever known. Very nice clean work nice little extras. One question I have is on your pipes. Are they made from plastic or aluminum? Also how did you get the real nice 90 degree bend on them? Kenny B
  6. WOW!! very, very well done. A lot of builders never go the extra on the engine. Ken.
  7. William, NEEDS RIVETS.... Just kidding.... Looks real nice I always wanted to build one myself. Kenny B.
  8. More updated pics. The turbo wing is done with rivets. After my third try to put on grill bars I think that I have them straight. I scratch built the old style headlights. Will post more soon. Kenny B
  9. I think that I am finished with the Rivets.???? I had to break down and purchase three more drill bits (just in case) to finish the hood. For all the other Rivet counters out there grand total so far is 1202 or is it 1204? Here is some up dates. The under hood bracing is a little different than it should be but I really needed the clearence for the exhaust pipes coming off the turbos. The chrome was removed from the grill. Lets cut the center out and make it look more real. Much better I think. I also removed the headlights an built the old style single type. Thanks for all the comments, I will post more soon. Kenny B
  10. Marshall, I sure will give them a call. Maybe I can smuggle in a few classic truck movies. Anyone that would like to join me feel free to come along. Bring popcorn. Ken.
  11. Well it's time for somemore up dated pics. I have the hood and cab done with the rivets. I broke my last drill bit again so the grill isn't done yet. Total count of rivets to date is 1162. How many more to go? Thanks for the coments. Kenny B.
  12. OOPS,I stand corrected thanks Doug. Kenny B.
  13. I found this nice little gem at our local model show about a month ago paid $15.00 for it. I'm thinking another Large Car once my Peterbilt is finished. The truck is complete and looks like there wasn't alot of glue used on it. We will see once I start taking it apart. She's a little dusty and dirty. Kenny B.
  14. Casey, All I used was a centering ruler but every hole you drilled took a little off the ruler. I ended up using a stainless steel ruler and about three pieces of tape to hold it down. Drilled the holes every 5 mm on center. Set up time almost took as long as drilling them out. It was pretty basic but worked well. You don't have to be crazy to do this........ but it helps. Total rivets installed todate is 793. Kenny B
  15. Thanks again. Anyone thinking of doing rivets might want to give it a second thought. I'm at the 500 rivets installed mark. How many more??? Seeing rivets when I close my eyes. I have only broken two drill bits. Lucky me. Kenny B.
  16. A little look of how far I got on the rivets up to when I broke the drill bit. I have about 140 done now. Ken.
  17. Just as everything was going along smoothly...I had a tool break down...broke the only drill bit I had...sent the crew home. Looking for new drill bit. Kenny B.
  18. Jesse, there isn't much to show it's called a centering ruler and a piece of masking tape. The holes are drilled every 5 mm. No fancy jigs here. Ken.
  19. Jesse, Yes please......I think that I have a system now. Just walk away from it. New record for me 39 rivets in 1 hour. Are we having fun Yet? Kenny B.
  20. Okay WoW, I've started putting the rivets in. It has taken me 2hrs and 45 min. to drill out and install (are you ready for this) 35 of them. I have mesured like 10 times to make sure my lines are straight. It doesn't help that they are so small that I can't see them. I guess about in 6 months I should be finished puttng them in. Kenny B
  21. Thanks everyone for all the wonderful coments. Everyone want's to know what colours? Silverish gray and dark plumish candy burgendy with black arcs across (if those are real colours). Look at my members photo. That's what i'm thinkin. Kenny B
  22. JT. I'm not the quickest builder out there I like to take my time and do it right. The pin vice was bought at my local hobby shop you can get it on line as well. It sure comes in handy. Ken.
  23. A few more updates. I wasn't happy with the hood the sides needed to be dropped down to match the bottom of the fenders. I wasn't happy with the lower sides when I extended the hood and didn't like the notch that Peterbilt puts in the bottom of the 379 hood so it will clear the cab when you open and close the hood. I decided to redo the sides to look better. Because I dropped the sides down the 379 style wasn't working for me so went with the new 389 hood look. I added new door trim and added corners to the sleeper. What a pain to work with 0.13 mm sheet of plastic. You use a little to much glue you will melt through it and have to redo it as I learned quickly. I ended up ordering the rivets on line and they just showed up the other day all 1600 of them. I'm not a rivet counter but I guess on this one you can call me one. The fun now begins now what have I got myself into. 1600 holes to drill out. Will post more as they come along. Kenny B.
