Beautiful build!
-
Yup, finding parts for these (in usable condition) is like finding a needle in 10 haystacks.

I don't know if this counts, but I got some do it yourself window tint so back windows done, removed the ugly bumper, and took the helper springs off but unfortunately the rears sitting higher . time for some lowering blocks and then loosen the torsion bars and leave the 4wd look.

That looks insane!

The color is testors one coat lacquer revving red with a few coats of wet look clear polished. I'm a lot happier with the wheel choice as well.
-
Thanks for all the information, I decided against the steel wheels so they're in the purple pond. I chose a set if torque thrusts that I think look a lot better!

Found some clear in the stash so got the body and hood cleared, right now (after the picture) the body is drying after another coat of clear while the hood I'm buffing out, I might have to post a short wip over on the workbench but I'm happy with the paint this far

I'm going for not a total sleeper but kind of a daily driver that the guy races on Friday nights, so I'm going for a stockish look that is actually a pretty fast car. I actually have some chrome trim rings that I test fitted and I love the look but if I'm going to use them on the fronts I'll have to do some cutting to get a pair I have to fit well. I'lltry it out and see if I like the look.

I had built the COPO Nova a while ago so after digging through the parts box I found the dog dishes. Even though it wouldn't necessarily be correct I painted the wheels body color and I think it looks pretty good, What do you think? BTW sorry about the crappy pictures used my not so great camera, soon when I get the body cleared and buffed ill take some good ones

where can I find a set like what would come on a base model Chevelle Malibu?
-
I'm building a 1970 Chevelle with steelies and I cant decide what color to paint them, the car will be testors one coat lacquer revving red and I think since I don't have any dog dish hubcaps painting the wheels body color might just be too much. What's your opinion?

I have used very thin wall aluminum tubing that I bent each side in between each header tube and produced acceptable results but a easier more realistic way I'd like to know as well.

His hoods are pretty much junk, the last one I bought had air bubbles everywhere and was about 2X too thick, took me weeks to get it to sit and look semi presentable. I feel for ya.

Some very fine detailing there!

I should been more clear Greg, my bad. The point of this post wasn't that I couldn't glue it together It's body work isn't one of my strong points so being successful then losing all the hard work was just very unlucky and agrivating. I am back at it trying to fill the gap.

Nice build! what brand is the hood?
-
I sure miss this one, the second vega I bought to flip and make cash for my '71, it was a '76 that I picked up for $200 and I forget what I sold it for but the cragers cleaned up well and more than paid for the car. It was a mild 327 but it liked to light em up, I miss it, shag seat covers and all. note, not our house, found it in a rather low standard neighborhood

I used to be able to go on photobucket, click on img code and it said copied briefly. I then come here and hit the paste icon and whala the picture was pasted on here. I now try it and when I hit paste absolutely nothing happens. Is anybody else experiencing this and can help me? I can attach files from my computer but I prefer photobucket,
