  1. Moving them was a success! I will post some photos tomorrow morning of what I came up with but I took one of those large long plastic bins and put a towel in it, I then placed the models spaced evenly apart in the bin and used half of my nike long socks in between them in front of them and behind them to ensure they wouldn't bang against each other and then I placed a sweatshirt in front of them all so they wouldn't slide forward or backwards. The new house is only about five miles away but the drive up the pot holed road that leads to the top if the hill isn't a smooth ride. When we got there I got them out of the bin as fast as I could and I found no broken off mirrors or door handles and everything was great! The others that didn't fit in the bin went on the floor board and I just stuffed some more socks I between them and I had no broken parts there either! Thanks again for your ideas!
  2. Thank you for the ideas! I have some under bed storage containers so ill try the towels with some packing penuts and maybe some socks Inbetween them and see how that will work if not ill try some other ideas you gave me. Thanks again!
  3. Getting ready for a move and I want to move my models without breaking them what do you guys do?
  4. I think it looks great but I think finishing sanding the back of the grill it would look just a little better, just my 2 cents keep it up!
  5. definitely gonna be cool!
  6. I know besides fords hemi no matter what body theyre using it has a hemi under it, I should have been more clear but what I meant is he started using a chevy bodied car so it would seem right to retire using a chevy body.
  7. I haven't met him but that is my dream, I doubt we'll stop using castrol because it is a great product but I'm pretty disappointed they didn't stay with force until he retired. I think Chevrolet might pick him back up which being a chevy guy that would be awesome and also that's who he started racing with until late 70's early 80's when he switched to ford
  8. its really a great thread, definitely a lot of great advice in it. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44595
  9. He was referring to a model club.
  10. There's a thread on her called Walk then run, I would recommend that you read through the whole thing as it will be very helpful to you. To find the thread go to the search bar on the right hand side of your screen and type in walk then run.
  11. its gonna be weird seeing forces funnycar without the Castrol decals on it, after all its been 29 years.
  12. whats your opinion on Castrol and ford dumping john force? Castrol has already lost a lot of customers but im not sure about ford. heres what Castrol had to say http://www.dragzine.com/news/force-staggered-but-not-knocked-out-by-latest-round-of-grim-news/
  13. I understand how much work that goes into putting modern engines in and updating all the suspension but imo they don't look good. For example my dad updated his 70 El Camino ss 396 with with disc breaks and aftermarket swaybars and the stopping power and handling is 100X better. As for me I love how loud my vega is, all the road noise with no carpet and the rattle of the b&m pro stick cover as well as I love wicked acceleration in a 2300 pound car with 750 horsepower and 4.56 gears on 26 and a half inch BFG drag radials. So what about the not so great handling, it makes for a fun drive.
  14. Depends if you want 100% accurate or what fits to your taste, that's the wonderful thing about model building, you get to build the model to your tastes and customize it to what you really like. Have some fun try other things to personalize it the way you like.
  15. While I did not trade with him Al(tubbs) sent some decals to me for my cuda build and he got them to me fast and they were exactly what he described them as.
  16. That paint looks gorgeous
  17. No all you need is some pretty rough sandpaper and it will make quick work of that thin grill
  18. Very cool my dad used to race a butternut yellow 68 Chevelle wagon there in te early 2000's
  19. Sand the back of the grill down until only the bars are showing.
  20. thank you ill give both of those a try and see if they'll work
  21. I doubt anybody would need any close ups of anything but if you do I can give you some good pictures of it. also if you need and pics of the 9 inch or ladder bar/wheelie bar or turbo 350 anything just ask.
  22. Thanks niko! It's a huge help have two 1:1's outside because you can look at the part from different angles rather than in pictures only being able to see a few different sides of it.
  23. Wow those headers look sweet!
  24. Once again this really turned out great!
