  1. I didn't say the corvette was a truck and I didn't say theyre off a corvette I said AFTERMARKET meaning a different manufacturer makes corvette rally wheels in 6 lug. The ones I would be ordering would be the ones that Jason posted in the link from Wheel Vintiques which is a good company so they aren't "just some cheap knockoff."
  2. I haven't seen the movie but this should be very cool!
  3. beautiful work! and oh boy that cage looks amazing!
  4. Thanks Jonathan!
  5. Thanks Bill and Larry I appreciate it!
  6. And heres my new to me 1978 chevy luv. all stock with a 4 cylinder 4 speed, original paint except for hood, different wheels and tires. the plan is to sell the wheels on craigslist and then buy aftermarket 6 lug corvette rally wheels with caps so youll never know its 6 lug. 15x8 in the rear and 15x6 in the front. still all in all I bought it for 1200 bucks, my dads high school friend will repaint it gloss black for 800 so for about 2500 I have have a clean little pick up that looks cool and get 23 24 mpg around town.
  7. well as promised, heres the updates. to start I started plumbing the fuel system, ran the brake lines and plumbed the lines from the brake booster, started making a distribution block and ran the lines across the rear end to the wheel backs. I also ran the positive battery cable up to the front where it will connect to the starter. I ripped out the rubber in the tubs and I will redo it with more accurate sized rubber and an accurate amount.i wasn't happy with the kit radiator because it honestly looked like crud so I found an extra radiator in the parts box and then I cut out the kit radiator and glued in the new one to the core support. I also found a new distributor and I made spark plug boots on the cap and redid the igniton wires I just haven't finished gluing it in. lastly I made a dipstick for the engine for added realism. coming up ill finish the ignition setup, make a tranny dipstick, finish the brake lines, and finish the fuel system. now on to the pics, comments/criticism greatly appreciated
  8. if I can find myself the RU series ill try it but I guess ill just keep my eyes peeled for the stuff recommended
  9. Some big updates coming up a little later stay tuned!
  10. I was looking at the engine today and I just wasn't happy with the ignition setup so I ripped the distributor and plug wires out and theyre going to be redone and ill be redoing it all with the correct firing order and ill be using a new distributer. also I scratched an alternator bracket out of coke can aluminum.
  11. Subaru's aren't really my cup of tea but that's awesome
  12. not my favorite build but one of my favorite pics And heres one of my early builds so its not very good

  15. Thanks for the advice ill get a pic posted of the jar soon
  16. . That's a big one for me when people disregard port spacing when kitbashing and throw BBC headers on a SBC
  17. I just got back from my LHS and im sitting here looking at the label and it says to reduce with HA101 at 5 parts paint to 1 part HA101. I'm thinking HA101 is the HOK brand of thinner? I have been searching online for this stuff and I cant find it anywhere. I have never used an airbrush until yesterday and I have never used house of kolor paints before. Can I use regular thinner to reduce it or is using this HA101 stuff a must? also if you guys have any tips for using an airbrush and any tips for using HOK airbrush paints it would be a lot of help. The airbrush I have is an old sears one from the 70s that I picked up from craigslist for 20 bucks. I know this is a really old airbrush and its not near as good as a new one but its all I have.
  18. Awesome! I love the 3rd pic as well!
  19. I'm not familiar with that kit but does it have little stubs that hold the wheel on that stick out? its hard to explain so does it look like this? if so cut the little stub off and move it up and reglue it. you can see in the pic that I cut it off and moved it up.
  20. Thanks Michael I appreciate it!
  21. Looks sweet but IMO I think the rears just aren't deep enough. if you have some chrome wheel backs put them in front of the rear wheels to make them deeper.
  22. Thanks Al this is going to help me out alot!!
  23. Looks good I cant tell from the pics so is it silver or a very light green?
  24. nice work on the engine and chassis! Are you going to cut off the remains of the rear sub frame and scratch new ones? BTW thank you for your service!
