I was looking for a kit the other day,and couldn't find it. I must have sold it,but don't remember.
Nobody looks at my stash without me being there.
But then I find one I'd forgotten about. Duh...
Wow, I waded through this whole thread (whew) a lot of kits I have never seen before, and some that brought back memories.
The bird kits and the owl. I had some of those when I was a kid.
I didn't see this one though. I actually bought one several years ago. It's supposed to be motorized,so there's not a lot of detail.
It goes together easily.
Yeah, I would go with the 55 since you already have it. You can make it work. Just a little chassis adjustment. There's a lot of room for detailing inside the camper too. Use your imagination there.
This kit was made for the 68-72 Chevy pickups. You can make it fit others.
Not to hijack your thread, but I built mine using a GMC cab. Are you going to weather yours?
Yes that's how it's done. The hood is tricky. It has to cut into sections and pieced together with styrene.
The internet is a great source for pictures. The H.A.M.B. at jalopyjournal.com has an ongoing thread about COE's. great reference.
In the interior, there is a hump on the floor for engine clearance like full size vans.
Very cool and a nice build!
I had the hardtop version of this kit when they came out. Didn't really care for the working lights, but it was still a great kit.
Yes it can. Here's 50 Chevy I started ( and haven't finished) I was going to make this a GMC too so it was more work.
The other picture show a Ron Cash resin cab.
The Topkick was available in resin if I'm not mistaken. It would be a lot of work to build one. It depends on your skills and how bad you want one I guess.
Wow, I've been on this forum for about 2 weeks and I just found this!
I wondered if there were any artists on here. Apparently some very good ones.
I drew with pencils for years, and got into acrylics about 12 years ago. Lately I make digital art using Paint Shop Pro.
Here's a pencil. My avatar.
Here's one I did about a yearago on the computer. Hope you like them. Thanks for looking!
.
I've got an older version that came with the 3 car set. 57,58,and 64 Chevys.
It's molded in light brown, and has some of the custom parts. Front and rear roll pans, bucket seats, and the trophy top!
Always been one of my favorite kits
You guys are too kind.
I should tell you I built this 15 years ago. The #45 on the hood is how old I was then. 60 now
I'll see if I can come up with a tutorial on how to do the conversion. It wasn't that bad.
I sold this several years ago, hopefully they still have it.
Here's the reference picture I used then. not sure why I made the bed different.
