  1. Finally, posting something in Under Glass for the first time in what seems like forever... Well as anyone would know that has read my WIP, I obtained a big pile of mustang parts and 3 bodies, with the hopes of making two models out of it... Here is one of the models, and yes it has some parts missing, but I had to do my best with what I had. Colour is Ford Colorado Red. Fujimi Ford GT40 wheels, with front tyres from the parts box. Engine was wired and plumbed, and some rusting was added around various trims. Custom made aluminium side pipes. Decals from the decal box. Hand written windscreen letters and white letter tyres. Believe it or not, I don't even really like mustangs but I love Shelby so this was a labour of love. (It even has mirrors. ) More can be found in my WIP thread. Feels good to post something finished again! Thanks for looking, all comments are much appreciated
  2. Another one! Awesome! Welcome aboard. (We're slowly taking over, just you see...)
  3. Thanks! I made a couple baby steps tonight, it's nearing completion now. Unfortunately, some things were missing, like one of the rear lights for example.. I'll rust out the hole to make it look feasible. Decals will really make the difference.
  4. Thank you! It's not bare plastic, it's intentionally painted white. The underside is white and red, the chassis parts being white, which run up to there. I'll post pics later
  5. Thanks guys! Engine wired, plumbed and back in. Thanks for lookin'
  6. I like it a helluva lot more than the original new Camaro from 2006 or whenever it was... I always hated that thing.
  7. That looks flawless. It's a great kit, I remember building the rally one, and it didn't come out anywhere near as amazing as this.
  8. Awh, that's a pity. I had hoped that the smaller companies like these would at least have a quality product, since they definitely have the subjects down.. Interested to see how you do with this. I wanted one to make the cover car from Gran Turismo 4, but I'm a bit put off now... I'll be watching!
  9. Got some more done today, my first exam is over so I celebrated with bench time... White letter tires: I then decided, hey, I'm nearly finished, so I might as well yank the engine out and do more detail on it. So I've got that started, about halfway through plugwires for now... Did the rocker covers too, as you can see.
  10. The wheels are from the Fujimi GT40, whatever one it is that comes molded in yellow, I had it a long long time ago... Really want to build one now, I've been reading the "Go Like Hell" book (highly recommended!) and it's given me motivation to build some Fords... Thanks Daniel!
  11. Finally got some more work done on this one, still haven't got paint for the Hertz... I haven't been sleeping, I HAVE been doing SOME work on models... Just haven't frequented here as much as I'd like. It's that time of the school year I'm afraid!
  12. The speed limit isn't a physical thing, it's a law thing, basically a "You can do over 45 as long as you don't see Johnny Law anywhere.", hahah. And you must have really hit it unlucky with that Mk2, because this one is reliable as ever! Hopefully it hasn't ruined your views towards VWs too much...
  13. Hahah, thanks! I'd have to have a good attitude about it, because there's literally nothing I can do about it... Keeps me from wrecking this thing prematurely too
  14. Hahah, not to mention the mooneyes air freshener and front badge! The R means I'm a restricted driver - in the UK, when you pass your test, you have to display the R decals for the first year of driving, and your speed is restricted to 45. Come October time I can take them down and drive properly. It's really annoying but judging by the caliber of (MOST) younger drivers, I guess it's a necessary evil..
  15. Well this update has been long overdue, but guess what... As of this past Tuesday, I CAN DRIVE IT!! I managed to get a reasonable quote on insurance and can now drive it! Best feeling ever. It's running perfectly and I'm dead proud of it.
  16. FINALLY got some paint down, the weather has been perfect for spraying. Got the custom one sprayed, and the Hertz primed. Hopefully get paint on the Hertz as soon as I get some black paint.
  17. Stunningly built. Read through the WIP before seeing this and the work really paid off.
  18. Lookin' good. Paint looks great. Ireland is being very well represented with talented modellers lately!
  19. Interior done on the racer, so here's the two beside each other... Plates in the back for any racing antics that may occur....
  20. I don't get as much time at the bench as I'd like unfortunately but I do try to get a little bit done every day if I can. Tonight I went back to the Custom mustang and had my first go at making side exhausts, with aluminium tubing. This underneath shot is just a mockup, which is why the headers don't line up perfectly just yet, but they will... Also decided on the style for the interior, I'm going for retro street racer. So I've got a seat in place and the carpets done. Stay tuned... Thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments
  21. I didn't grow up in the era of this... Unfortunately. The first time I built a kit that had the names of the parts I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and thought it was so good to be able to know what certain things were. They should really bring it back.
  22. Thanks Buzz! Bob - Well, it is and it isn't. Like, I couldn't imagine myself doing two builds at the same time and doing them similar. I'm only managing to bother with this because I'm doing them in different styles and keeping it fresh, and also to see if this big bundle of parts I got has enough stuff to actually MAKE two models.. Here's hoping.
