Cheers guys! A fine sharpened toothpick works wonders for small writing.

Thanks everyone, much appreciated!! All bar the Micra are Tamiya, the Micra is Fujimi.

So I've been in a bit of a 90s rally car kick lately (I grew up watching these rally cars, so I will never not have the inspiration to work on one...) so I decided to take advantage of this. Finished the Micra, and last night I just finished this. Built box stock, so there's not much to say about it. The desk has been busy.. My own rally car factory! I plan to build most if not all of my old favourite rally cars.. All comments much appreciated!

Thanks everyone, means a lot!

Cheers guys! I'm not sure on the colour, I used an old can I had lying around. It's Calsonic blue though, so Tamiya should have a can of the same colour for sale.

So, I've never had a go at making my own rally car before, so here's what we got.. Kit is this one: I made a scratchbuilt roll cage for it. Calsonic decals from a Group A R32 Skyline. Bucket seats, steering wheel, hood pins, Mirrors and antenna are from a Tamiya Evo rally car. I only noticed after I put them on that the chrome bit for them was missing from the box, oh well.. And the antennas broke off during photography.. Grr. Roof scoop from a Tamiya Celica ST185, I think. Exhaust is from the parts box, and the hood lights are from a Tamiya Impreza. So, anyway, here we go! My own rally car, complete with my driver name and my best mate's name as the co-driver. This was a very fun build, and I finished it in around 2 days. Couple fitment issues with the bumpers but oh well. It's a little rough around the edges, but I had a lot of fun building it. All comments and criticisms are much appreciated! Cheers!

Tamiya Toyota Corolla WRC #5 C.Sainz Rally de Catalunya
Shelby 427 1965 replied to fitforbattle's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Good luck with those decals in that kit.. Night mare. A lot of set/sol needed. or a replacement set of them, hahah! Tried building it before, wound up as a test car version with no decals.. Have another one on the pile to try a second attempt because I love the Castrol WRC Corolla so much. Will be watching this one -
oh my god that thing is insanely cool. I love it.

Tamiya 1/12 Datsun 240ZG "Street Custom"
Shelby 427 1965 replied to Jordan White's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wonder if it'll be possible to buy just the extra parts, since I have the kit already.. -
So this is mostly done, I need to get the whole body in primer so I can get it painted... I tried the techniques on the tyres to get them round again but no dice. Is there anywhere I can get a replacement set? Cheers, all comments are appreciated!

Thanks for this, I'll try the water technique. Do i need to shape it in the water at all or...? And I won't be going prostreet hahah, want it to be as true to the original as I can..

So as some of you may remember, a while back I made a Camaro based of the Gorillaz music video, Stylo. Here is my other one, so you get the feel for the build... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=79229&hl=stylo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhPaWIeULKk Well, having a bout of inspiration, I decided to tackle my first "big build". I've never finished a big scale before, even though I have the Shelby GT500 from revell and the Tamiya 240Z in the stockpile. I'll finish them eventually! But for now - the 1/12 Foose Camaro, done in the Style of Stylo. Here's what I've done so far.. Grille badges, broken headlight, damaged front bumper: Z/28 badges removed - Stylo is an SS, not a Z/28. Unfortunately there's no SS decals for this model, I've have to see what I can do... Engine bay is (mostly) finished... Chrome trim made for the vinyl roof, which I didn't do on the small scale.. Didn't have the supplies! Now for the comparisons... The size is quite daunting. Mirror... The custom gearstick, with the "boost" button... Broken glass... One thing that has really, really annoyed me about this kit is the tyres. They're all out of shape. What can I do? Thanks for looking, hope you like!

2000 Cobra R for sale on Ebay

Ain't it missing a front spoiler too? -
Cheers Paul! Roof rack is indeed from the Tamiya Monte Carlo Mini. I test fitted it and it seemed to fit perfectly so I thought "Why not?"? Hahah. Thanks for the kind words.
-
Cheers lads! Spotlight was taken from a Tamiya Mini, I believe. Very finnicky to put on.. Worth the effort, though!

2016 SVT GT350R

I think I just melted. I wasn't super keen on the new Mustang, but that's hot. -
Basically exactly what he said. Builds into a nice kit, though. This one's box stock, no lowering, to give you an idea.. Went together with no issues, really. Very fun kit.

When it's built as cleanly as that, I don't think anyone can complain about a non-black GNX. Love it!

Thanks guys! The photo setup is just my garden. It's handy having somewhere somewhat picturesque when photographing.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone, means a lot!! @Harry - I think it could be the belt on the engine is sticking out too much. I had thought about doing that but I didn't wanna sand down the engine, I thought it'd look bad.. People tend to look at my engines when they're looking at my models so I thought it'd be best to leave well alone. Thanks for the tip on the rear vents.. I don't know how I left those out, my brother HAS a bloody beetle so that was a momentary lapse of reason on my part! the tail light housings are made to look like second hand parts that were bought to replace the originals, that the owner didn't have the budget to paint yet, hence the silver colour to look like it's off another car. I thought primer would've been too unoriginal.. Thanks again everyone!
