Build what you enjoy because you enjoy it. Post them to inspire people, because you want to share them. I don't get the whole proposed hatred towards Asian and foreign cars. I build mainly foreign and domestic cars and also American cars, because they're what I have a passion for. I often get a fair few responses to the foreign ones. I post my builds here almost all the time and sometimes you get lots of responses, sometimes you don't. But nobody likes that kid in high school that always begs for attention - if you get ignored, you get ignored. Such is life. You just accept it and work on at the next build because it's what you enjoy doing. If you think it's not worth the work to post if you aren't going to get many responses, well, then don't do it. It's entirely up to you. It's a voluntary thing and we aren't paid to give responses, it's a privilege to be helped out by people, not a right. If you build something excellent, people won't mind where the car is based from. Everyone here, regardless of if something is to their taste, appreciate a fine build and the effort it takes. On a predominantly American forum, yes, people are going to steer towards American cars. But if you build something cool and build it well, people will take notice. That's just my view on the whole thing anyway.

D'oh, rookie mistake! God knows how I forgot to notice that. Must do that tomorrow. Oh boy, I was worried someone would tell me the decals were a pain.. And I was praying for smooth sailing!

So, I finally got this kit in the livery I wanted - the white and blue one. It took about 3 years to find it at an affordable price. So, I'm going to do a fair amount of detail on it. All work is based on what few reference pictures of this year of the car I could find. I've built the 206 before, but I never managed to get the livery I really wanted and I ended up weathering the life out of it because I made too many mistakes. As ever with my builds, I cranked on the tunes... Tonight I went for some ZZ. Don't ask me why, but the first thing I did was the dashboard. I really enjoy the dashboards in racing vehicles... Next up was the underside and wheels... I'm going to foil the exhaust, as the pics I found had heat shields on them. The wheels are painted white, the lighting doesn't help... Now, according to reference pics, there should be a kevlar cover and a foot rest on the driver's side. The kit doesn't depict this at all. I gave it a go, I may redo it to improve it but this is what I came up with quickly... So, that's what I have for now, I do plan on trying to push myself a bit more on detail with this one, only way to learn really.. For now I'm calling it a night and setting it in the spray booth to keep dust away! Thanks for lookin', all comments and helpful tips and pics are appreciated.

A build that small but that clean takes a lot of talent. Very well done.

Thanks! Oh no, the rear bumper would've been fine with the licence plate, it's supposed to go over the bumper if you were to install it. I left it off and left the holes there to keep the 70s street racer sorta look. -

Thank you so much everyone! The kit is usual tamiya, practically falls together. Well, it WOULD, but I had some issues since I decided to modify the suspension to get it lower at the front, but that's my fault! -

Went through my photo archive, managed to find some of the interior shots It wasn't finished at this point but it shows the things I added and gives you a rough idea. It's too delicate to take apart now for pics, wish I had've thought to take some finished ones... -
I love a 190 merc. Very nicely done.

Taking pictures of your models

To me those images look fine, it's more down to the compression of the filehosting site you use that seems to be ruining the clarity and sharpness! -

Wow, thanks for the responses everyone! @Mark - I'm not too sure, actually. There's literally nowhere else I can see on the model for filling up fuel, so that may be the case... Thanks again! -
Tamiya Nissan Skyline GT-R C10 “Street Custom” kit, bought for me by my best friend Conor. Mods to the kit: Heat-proofing on the headers, fire extinguisher, bucket seat, lowered front suspension, exhaust tip, Decals, licence plate. Freehand drawn "Mooneyes" on the splitter. I lost the indicators for the kit so I used decals from a Tamiya Toyota Supra. This is the first kit I've finished in a long time, in fact I started it last christmas and am only just getting it finished now. Normally for me a kit is finished in a few days! But I'm really happy with how it turned out and I tried my best to get it finished as nicely as possible since it was a present to me and I wanted it to come out right. It's gotten me over modeller's block anyway! All comments are much appreciated! Cheers

I've never ever built a hotrod but I may buy this and try and stick a 440 Magnum in it somehow... -
Paint Booths & Safe Ventilation?
Shelby 427 1965 replied to Synister's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
So, hi everyone. I ain't been as frequent lately. Life happens! But anyways. I've got the makings of a decent spray booth, I think. It's a gutted out C&C lathe, which I got from my da's school, as it was being thrown away. So what should I do to make this into a spray booth? I have no clue. It has this coming out the side, which would be useful for extraction of some description maybe? I honestly have no clue. Some help would be nice. Oh, and I've been inactive but I've been busy.. Nearly got this thing finished!! Cheers -

Finish this skyline... Get some work done on that V8 Trabant, and I'd really like to build my first Gasser. Apart from that, see what the year brings.. -

I'm partial to the "Everything except the Plymouth Superbird, the Shelby Cobra and the Renault Clio v6 Phase One vs. Mk.2 Golf" one, because I know who wins that
