About Me
Started modelling ca. 1969 (Mainly Airfix sailing ships, 1/72 planes, and 1/32 cars - the "plastic bag kits") - the highlights of this era were Tamiya's 1/12 Lotus 49 and 1/18 CanAm McLaren M8A. After a 10-year break I re-started building again in 1982 with amt's 1/25 trucks, then American cars from the 50's and 60's. After founding a family, my output went down almost to nothing, and my main interest changed to (mainly) European race and rally cars (Porsche 917, Ferrari P4, Chaparral 2F, Lancia Stratos and 037, Peugeot 205 turbo, Ford Escort Mk I etc.) - my favourite racer is the Ford GT40 Mk I and the Ferrari 250 GT/L is my favorite sports car, together with Dino 246 and Lamborghini Miura) - so instead of amt and Revell, I bought mainly Fujimi and Hasegawa kits.
As you can see from my Avatar, I'm a big fan of earlier Alfa Romeos and therefore have also collected about 250 1/24 die-cast cars which are not - at least for affordable prices - available as kits. A lot of them will be modified, turned into racers or rally cars.
The problem is (not only mine, I suppose) : too much to build - too little time and space...
