Thanks, Mark. I too prefer modelkits in 1/24 scale (occasionally larger), but this was a must for me.

is the Matchbox Lesney # 75 "Ferrari Berlinetta" which is in fact the Ferrari 250 GT/L "Lusso". A neat little die-cast toy I had almost 60 years ago. Of course it got lost over time, but about 30 years ago I could acquire a nice, almost mint one, with a mostly intact original box: Some years ago,I happened to get another one in a play-worn condition and decided to pimp it up a bit: it was disassembled, interior got a satin black respray, the body was spray-painted with light blue metallic car-laquer (after removing those ugly molding lines with files and sandpaper), the scratched clear part was polished as good as possible. At last I sprayed bumpers and spoke wheels with Revell chrome , modified the steering wheel for 3 spokes and applied some paint detailing - with a toothpick and a fine brush: lights, indicators, steering wheel, license plate and Ferrari badge. This is what it looks like now (the green stock model will remain untouched):

Again it will be interesting to follow you with this one, Dave ! I remember seeing some pictures of the original several decades ago in a German car magazine (must have been late 70's/early 80's...) - it was red and had a blue California license plate, IIRC. -
