I made that sleeper as well and had it cast into resin and I then had a guy in Canada draw up the Eagle and make it into decals. Jerry at ModelTruckin Decals sells them now. I have sent some pics back then to Evan Hermel and one was published in b/w in his Model truck column in SAE (must have been in the early '90's - long before I had Internet and before Jerry made those decals. The wings of my hand painted eagles are too short - they should have reached from the edge of the sleper cab up front to the chrome grille. But when I discovered this, it was almost too late !

I just wanted to show you one of my latest (!) truck builds: ERTL's IH 4300 Eagle, built in 1989 - I stretched the frame, fabricated a big sleeper combining 2 sleepers and some plastic sheet, a third tank from a second kit, front bumper from Revell, license plates from Italeri. As there were no such decals existing then, I hand-painted the cab-hood-sleeper in a rather simple way. A few things I would make in another way today, and the truck would need a little TLC to eliminate its shortcomings, but: too many kits - too little time...

I think the fender mirrors would only be included if the Moebius kit has them, too. The sales price here in Europe is supposed to be € 59,99 (the same as the Lonestar)

Yesterday I wrote an e-mail to Ulrich Taubert, Head of the Product development of Revell Germany asking for a Greyhound Scenicruiser bus kit: I told him that - after the great London bus - this would be a big hit, especially among the American modelers and that the pic is a photoshop compilation which I found on the Internet - who else, if not Revell would offer such a kit (who would have thought some years ago that we would see a detailed London bus kit in 1/24 scale?) ? The success of the London bus obviously initiated Heller's reissue of their old citybus from Paris! Immediately after the release of our Neoplan (modern Cityliner bus) we got a lot of proposals, the resulting following model (London doubledecker bus) also has run very successfully. Posted 17 April 2012 - 12:20 PM I have a Ferrari 250 swb kit in my unbuilt pile.It is an ESCI kit- 1:24. It has the decals for the Stirling Moss- Rob Walker car. I would post a photo if I was able to. Bruce, I have built 2 versions of the ESCI kit in the 80's: I have used the wheels from Italeri's GTO and done a lot of carving and puttying - still got no correct body - it is very distorted and clumsy. I tried to make a '60 race and a '61 street car out of it. In my stash I do have 3 Italeri SWB's - still unbuilt - that look really good - at least their proportions - but they also have (albeit small) issues: some parts are simply taken over from the 250 GTO (as with the California spider), but I think you can live with that. This is more easily correctable than a totally wrong body. Let's hope they still will reissue it! Helmut

Looking very good - especially in that gleaming blue color (from the 50's to the 70's a lot of Ferraris had other colors than the usual red) - nice comparison with the mighty looking 599. It does not have anything to do with Protar - it's Italeri's own kit, relatively simple to build (compared with Fujimi), main issue is the Dunlop racing tires which already graced their 250 GTO, 250 SWB, 250 GT California spider, 275 GTB/4 and 275 GTS/4 Spider NART. Very nice build! The Lamborghini Miura is - together with the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso and the Dino 246 GT - one of the most beautiful sports cars ever (at least in my opinion). Helmut

I would think that Revell is going to reissue their 250 GTO from the 90's this time (which was a repacked Italeri GTO) because the remark "neue Form " (= new mold) is missing here. I'm asking myself why they won't release a 250 GT Lusso (my favorite Ferrari since I have owned the Matchbox # 75 car as a kid in the mid '60s); a 1966 330 GTC or a 1958 250 TdF would also be great! I don't think we need another 250 GTO after Fujimi's very good kit (only the Avon tires are a big fault!) Though I have bought Revell's Mini and 2 CV, I also have acquired about 95 1/24 die-casts in the last 3 years - mainly of cars that we will hardly ever see as plastic kits (will be disassembled, repainted, detailed and or converted) - most of them came out in Italy, promoted from Quattroruote car magazine. Some of the models I have: Citroen DS, Citroen Dyane, Lancia B24 Spider, Lancia Fulvia Coupé, Fiat 124 Spider, Fiat X1/9, Mercedes Benz 230 SL, BMW 1600-2 (Same body as 2002), Ford Capri and Escort Mk 1 and a lot of different Alfa Romeos: Giulia Super, Giulietta Sprint coupé, Giulietta Sprint Speciale coupé, GT1300 junior, 1600 Spider Duetto (The Graduate!), 1750 Berlina, 1800 Alfetta, Alfasud, 1900 Berlina, 1900 Sprint, tipo 33 stradale (1967), Montreal etc.etc... Several among them would make great kits but I don't think this will happen during the rest of my life. Helmut
