  1. Petty ran Fords for a while. That's why Polar Lights has a model of his Torino Talledega. http://round2models.com/models/polar-lights/talladega-stock-car
  2. Why don't you just have all those huge well known plastic car model companies in the UK build you the models you want if America and it's companies suck so bad? With your glowing comments I just can't see why the owners of Revell and AMT and Moebius don't jump at every request you have.
  3. Great pics and great work. Thanks for showing it. At least I know what was being talked about now.
  4. My bad, I thought they made John's truck once. Thanks for clarifying.
  5. It's a fun kit to build for a car from a TV show. 95% of the people outside the serious model community that see this big General Lee aren't going to care that it's not a spot on TV replica. Paint the interior tan, orange the body and you're set for the most famous TV car to ever hit the screen. Just my opinion though. Now the old MPC 1/25th kit with the glaringly wrong body, people noticed that difference easily. And they've fixed that on the new ones of course.
  6. Yes, tops in service with the most recent issue I had, which happened to also be the 50 Olds tires. One was mispunched and unuseable in any way.
  7. I've told them on their FB page and also have emailed them. It's fun to discuss here as well. With the popularity of 80s stuff right now in pop culture, they'd be wise to jump on the bandwagon and release any kits they can still make for the 80s shows and movies they made. All the Dukes kits (they currently have some on the market), A Team, Fall Guy, Hardcastle &McCormick, etc. and even reach back to the late 70s and send out the CHiPs kits too. Anything from that era is really hot right now. Most of us that loved those shows as little kids are in our mid to late 30s or older and have the finances to buy all of the kits as they come out.
  8. Where did you see that? I'm not familiar with the kit. Have a pic? Thanks.
  9. I'd scan the decals intoa color scanner first, just to make sure if they do go bad, you can reprint them on new decal paper. I'd also give the decal sheet a couple coats of Testors Decal Bonder from the spray can to see if it can hold them together. http://www.mfpilot.com/images/TestorsDecalBonder.jpg
  10. I really want the MPC Cooters Tow Truck to be reissued. Can't even touch one on Ebay.
  11. Yup, post away!
  12. From their Facebook page today: Looking forward at the production schedule I have some new products and some re-releases. We are producing 3 different models in our test program which means they are being released in a color and in White ('57 Belvedere - Christine, Buick Opel, and '67 Shelby). We have a Star Trek original series SNAP kit, the figure from Alien, the Starcruiser from Forbidden planet, and the Mr. Spock Star Trek model kit in a tin lunch box to name a few. Unfortunately there is nothing new in the large trucks and only a few things in Star Trek at least for the first half of the year.
  13. Very nice. I have two of these kits. One arrived a few weeks after the first one due to a defect on one of the parts. Tire was mispunched and when I called, they just went and sent another entire kit. Funny thing is, on the second kit, it has printed whitewalls instead of the all black ones on the first kit. Either they started shipping them with printed tires right after I bought mine, or I got a "mistake" that works to my favor.
  14. Recently picked up a Red Baron kit. I'll have to watch this one progress.
  15. "January 2013 Revell USA 85-1978 1/25 Grave Digger Monster Truck SNAP 85-4052 1/25 '03 Chevy SSR 85-4909 1/25 Willys Street Rod 85-4918 1/25 Challenger 1 w/ Mickey Thompson Figure 85-4995 1/25 Stacey David's Rat Roaster" I honestly don't understand Revell wasting time on the SSR kit. They didn't sell well in the real world and I have yet to hear of anyone say they wanted another model of it. I've also never seen one being displayed at any model shows. Maybe it's just me. I think they should have put their time into something else.
  16. Tower now shows the "Christine" model as being in stock. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCXUR&P=7
  17. Nice! I have the Mello Yello and City Chevrolet kits NIB.
  18. Thumbs up! Great looking car.
  19. Looks good. I have this combo kit and will build it one day. Love classic NASCAR stuff.
  20. What they should do is have someone pull a body made out of lexan for them and include it with the opaque body. I'm also big into R/C and we have lexan shells for even 1/4 scale cars. All it would take is to make a plug from one of the styrene bodies and duplicate it. Lexan is cheap and fast to work with. Maybe someone after market could do that. Lexan comes out crystal clear with little to no defects and then we could have both. Opaque accurate body and a clear lexan shell that as well if we want to go that way for a bit.
  21. Round 2/AMT makes a large Star Trek Enterprise D kit in clear (for those of us that want to light it). It's quite a few pieces and the saucer sections are huge. So size and detail couldn't be a reason for not using clear either. The price on the clear Enterprise is about $50 though. My guess is cost. Probably cheaper to mold it from light blue plastic and hit the sub $40 mark retail.
