  1. Agreed. I've bugged them about upcoming ship and other kit releases as well since I model it all from cars to boats and spacecraft. Some of the kits they replied back were never going to be released, yet the website still had them on there many months later. Someone is asleep at the wheel in their marketing dept and social media offices.
  2. Where does one go to buy Model King kits online? I hear of them often, yet no one that I frequent online carries Model King kits.
  3. Haha, sweet! Average shipping rate of nearly ten bucks makes them $15 kits. Thanks for the link man!
  4. Boy, I wish we had vendors like that around here. Bummer. At any show I've been to the vendors want full sticker or more for any kits. NASCAR kits are regularly at the $15, $20 mark and up. They all see it as a 15+ year old kit and think it's worth big bucks.
  5. True for exact accuracy there are plenty of differences. But if I painted the wheels it comes with white, no fan of the flick will really notice. Close enough.
  6. I'm going to get the convertible, paint it white like the one used on Can't Buy Me Love. Display it with a printed scene from the movie behind it. Dorky? Heck yes!
  7. Every NASCAR kit I see on Ebay is $10 plus another $10 shipping. Point me to these $5 kits please!
  8. That makes sense too. Unfortunately, ours sucked for five years before HL built their place.
  9. That makes perfect sense. Thanks!
  10. Our Michaels is sad for kits. Maybe five feet of shelf for kits, and they've been stocking and restocking the same exact kits for years. It seems the only way they drop a kit is if the factory cancels the kit entirely. It's like those tourist traps in the northwoods that have the same model kits grossly overpriced that only sell on rainy days when the kids can't play in the lake or go fishing. I check them out when they have a 50% off ad, and usually get something like a set of artists oils for making washes. Hobby Lobby is three doors down and they must have two or three local modelers working in their kit section because it's WELL stocked. And they get in very model styrene specific stuff as well. Touch and flow glue applicators even. Not even our old hobby shop was this well stocked for plastic model tools and accessories. And stock is rotated often. Sales on the older kits, and newer kits stocked often. Hobby Lobby beats Michaels on everything. Their regular prices are better, and their stock is leagues beyond.
  11. Thanks for the nice words guys. Enjoy your kit Michel!
  12. Wouldn't that be cool? There is a guy on You Tube that gets cases of free kits from Round2 to show them off. what sucks is he isn't into car models at all, only sci fi, so he never does anything with the car models, just shows the boxes in the background a bit and that's it. You'd think they would give them to someone that was into cars so people could see them.
  13. Thank you. The error on the father/son thing is corrected in the description on You Tube. Wasn't worth re-recording it all. As far as the engine, below the review in the comment section a guy that says he worked on the kit says that it is a 429, but I nor most people aren't experts enough on the engine to know it wasn't a 427 and was a 429 when the box says 427. Seems the error has continued to the reissue. I do strive for accuracy, but I do make mistakes. I'm not a NASCAR expert and don't pretend to be. These videos are done by me for fun, not profit or sales. I always appreciate the pointing out of things that I can correct next time though. Thanks.
  14. Here's a look at the re-release kit. YES, THE VIDEO DOES HAVE SOME ERRORS, DONNIE WAS NOT DAVEY'S DAD AND THE ENGINE WAS A 429 EVEN THOUGH THE BOX SAYS 427. THESE VIDEOS ARE DONE FOR FUN, NOT FOR PROFIT OR TO SELL KITS.
  15. Ha! I bet I did. I had the clear trees and red clear trees laying out and never got to them in my excitement. Wonder if I can edit a video that's already up to add those parts. Probably not, but I'll check into that.
  16. Yup, I sat and thought on that for a bit last night and I'd agree with you that it's the vent top.
  17. I did not see one, but I'll go through the parts tonight again and if I do see one I'll let you know.
  18. Racing Champions is also going to come back and produce a line of kits called "Meh, Close Enough" or MCE for short. They will be producing the only market option for the 2000 Chevy Malibu in base trim, though some say it resembles a 1985 K Car that was left in the mold too long, the company's president has replied "Meh, close enough."
  19. I'd sure love to see them repop the Gone Fishing set. Or just that boat if need be. I'd build the Ramcharger identical to my Dad's a the time.
  20. Jo Han is reopening it's doors and will be popping out kits.
  21. When I was a kid this is the type of snap kit I would have loved. Colored parts that match the show colors, wheels I don't have to hollow out to see the spokes of, grill inserts in color, clear red taillights, etc. The solid color snap kits never appealed to me as a kid much. If it was all one color with no engine, I just bought a glue kit. I'm not a kid anymore, but I'll be buying at least one of these.
  22. You guys have a blast beating the hell out of that dead horse over there, I'm just going to go hit the unfollow button. Can someone send me a PM if this ever gets back to anything useful? Thanks.
  23. I'm not sure how others feel, but I say take your time and do what has to be done. We'll get it eventually. Besides, my new Tim Flock '56 is on it's way and I'll be busy.
