  1. Ditto on everyone before me.
  2. Here's a shot of the rail job. http://www.imcdb.org/images/053/522.jpg
  3. Great flick. I'd love to see the Newbomb's Pie Wagon as a 3n1 kit with decals (so someone could build it as a plain delivery too or a dragger). And have a little figurine of Fran Drescher in the back.
  4. Are you sure you weren't targeted by someone that has seen your collection? 99.9% of thieves have no idea what kits are worth, let alone to pick and choose certain kits and models. Most are drug addicts looking for cash, jewelry and other things they can sell very fast for easy cash or trade for dope. Plastic models aren't a quick buck kind of thing. Pawn shops and meth dealers don't want toy kits. It's just too odd that you'd get broken into by a random thief that was also well versed in plastic models.
  5. What scum. If the police didn't say so already, toss your toothbrushes and any open food containers, and rewash your dishes.
  6. I sure hope so. Not everyone wants their car to look like a Foosebag.
  7. Tamiya is making a 1/10th scale RC kit of my 1:1 truck, the Toyota FJ Cruiser. I'm getting it for sure. I'd like to see them make 1/24th styrene kits as well. I'd build a few of them, one just like my truck and a few optioned out.
  8. This is like our previous sherriff. He showed up for work less than 2 hours the past year and less than a few weeks the year prior. There was nothing that could be done until he resigned in shame. If he wanted to stay, we'd have had to wait until he was booted in the next election.
  9. I love reading posts with people justifying theft. It's always good for a laugh. And I know who to keep an eye on around my stuff if I ever meet them.
  10. I love the internets. It even has experts on what other people have seen.
  11. Not sure if this was brought up, but the spare mounted on the tailgate of an old plowtruck is pretty accurate for a lot of the trucks here in the rust belt. Or mounting it inside the box somewhere. Another very common location on these trucks back in the day was right on the grill if there was room in front with the plow light brackets. After a few plowing sessions, you wouldn't want to chip out that much ice, snow, sand from under the truck to get the spare off. Those old trucks rotted fast underneath. Anything built in the 70s and 80s turned into a mess on the undercarriage after just a year. We use lots of salt here. Lots. Newer trucks aren't much of an issue these days, but on a truck of this age, it's rare to see a spare sitting under the bed still.
  12. LHS is closing after 50 years, so I've been stopping in every few days to stock up during their big sale.
  13. My LHS is going to close after 50 years of business (retirement) and they had one of these on the shelves. Everything is currently 33% off and dropping weekly. Snatched it up along with many others.
  14. I'd like a few copies of the Beer Wagon. The Paddy Wagon repop is nice and the prepainted figures are done well. Our LHS had the kit for $24.99 and a 20% off sale. I was surprised when Tower listed it over $30.
  15. I see they just announced it for first quarter 2014.
  16. This would be a great multi-part subject article for the print magazine. Since Moebius participates in this forum, and they put out amazing kits of all types, I think they'd be a great manufacturer to have in the article.
  17. http://www.waow.com/story/23793648/2013/10/25/wausau-business-closing-after-50-years
  18. What did I get this week? I got depressed. Our local hobby shop of 50 years is closing. Really bummed.
  19. Your Walmart still sells kits in the store? Wow. Most locations pulled them from the shelves a long time ago. Lucky you.
  20. Agreed. The plethora of information on building, videos, and sourcing supplies/kits from around the world with our fingertips has moved modelling from the limits of each of our towns to a worldwide community.
  21. Darn wish mine stocked that. Would be nice to get it at 40% off. And I wish they stocked the Lindberg Stage Coach now that Round 2 owns them. Maybe down the road a bit more.
