How often do you visit Hobby Lobby?
hpiguy replied to dantewallace's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Twice a month or so. Michaels is a block away from our Hobby Lobby, so I hit them both up on the same day with their coupons. My Hobby Lobby is also clearancing older kits and stocking lots of new ones finally. -
Nice! I'd love to see an article on the build of this monster.

Wonderful! Really like that livery.

The outboard company and the car company share nothing aside from the name of a Roman God. Kiekhafer(sp) was rich, and could afford to buy the overwhemingly powerful Chryslers for his race team, so he did.

I got into Doc's videos by dumb luck searching kit reviews and subscribed when I got back into styrene this past year. I even subscribed to his magazine and bought a shirt to help out because I like the video style and the entertainment while teaching me new techiniques. Another favorite of mine is ClassicPlastic101. He has amazing talent for any type of model. Cars, sci fi, figures, he can do it all, and does it all well. He doesn't compete with his models according to him, but if he did, he'd take home a lot of trophies. He's also very personable and takes time to talk to people on his FB page and help everyone else out. The channels I watch most are the ones where the modeler interacts with the viewers. Doc replies to things, Chris of ClassicPlastic101 replies and talks. If they just post videos to see their own stuff online and read compliments, I stop watching after a bit.

Very nice! I just won this kit on the auction site, should be here next week. Scale Auto just did a nice article on a resin '56 body model using the chassis from this kit. I also grabbed the last set of '56 300B Buck Baker Mercury decal sets that Mike's Decals had, as I see Moebius is releasing the 1956 300B model in a few weeks. Will be sweet to have two Chrysler 300 stock car models in Mercury livery.

She's a beaut! Great work.

How does the Lindberg 1/8 T compare to this one?

They make much more than just 1.9 and 2.2 tires for R/C scalers. We model plastic, and we get very scale in our R/Cs too. We also run 1/12th pan cars, you can look into wheels like that as well though most of those are stricly race foams. Here are some 1.55s that some of you may like for 1/12th styrene builds, google search for more options on 1/10 and 1/12th R/C scale parts. http://www.rpphobby.com/category_s/363.htm

Why would the shop that has great deals need to be a secret? Please let us all know. Thanks.

Hit and miss for me with the post office. One delivery guy is nice. Of course he's retiring. The others that show up to sub for him are rude and simply do not care. Packages left in puddles and such. UPS and FedEx are great experiences 95% of the time at home and work for me.

New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
hpiguy replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Tower Hobbies has it listed at $26.99 and their prices usually stay pretty consistent. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDCWE&P=7 A very fair price. -
Round 2 Purchases Lindberg/Hawk

I hope this means the Lindberg 1/8th Model T and Concord Stage Coach make it to Hobby Lobby so I can get them for 40% off! -
New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
hpiguy replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I'm not a fan of Fords much at all, but this kit look like it will be way too nice not to own. That's how you know it's good stuff. When even the non-Ford fans want it. Any truck love for the Chevy and Dodge pickup fans coming down the pipe? -
I get more late shipments and blatantly false auctions ("new in box", box arrives and it's open and missing major parts) from the plastic model side of Ebay then I ever do the general merchandise and R/C sections of the site. I wonder why that is? Makes me curious more than anything. I'd say 3 out of 50 sales I buy from in general merchandise and R/C stuff has any issues at all. Usually very minor stuff. Easily 3 out of 10 sellers I buy from will have some sort of issues on the plastic model items. Either taking well over two weeks to ship or having glaring issues with the item matching the auction description.

Checked Ebay myself and answered my question. Crazy prices on those now.

I have a mint electric motored one in my closet at my parents house. My Dad and I built it many years ago. It worked perfect at the time. I'll have to go dig out this weekend and put batteries in it and see what happens. I have the Testors Hemi as well, never built it, still in the box. Can those still be found reasonably priced? I'd like to get another one to actually build and keep the other one NIB.

I like it. Good job.

Both are coming for sure. But like Kevin said, it doesn't look like a combo deal at this particular moment. Tower shows Aug and Oct for the models. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000009615&I=LXDDBR&P=K http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000009615&I=LXDDBV&P=K
