  1. Very nice.
  2. Great work.
  3. Here is the difference in the boot area with the fuel tanks in place. 356B - white chassis 356A - gray chassis Building the engine is a favorite part of the build for me (typically), not so much joy building this little beast. I would encourage anyone taking this kit on to build up the engine as much as possible before painting. Everything except the fan and shroud is fully assembled for painting in this photo. The engine stand is included in the kit. I used kit sprue as large alignment/mounting pins to install the cylinder heads. I did not bother with the crank shaft and pistons that are included in the kit as they will never be seen.
  4. Or even just a Gmund Coupe trans-kit.
  5. Wish someone would offer a 356SL Gmund trans-kit. https://revsinstitute.org/the-collection/1949-356sl-gmund-coupe/
  6. You are a lot more organized in your approach than I am Rich. Like the color of the Coupe. And yes there are a lot of parts! If you don't mind can you share photos of the 1600GS engine parts. I don't have that version in the stash. Appears to be similar to the 1500 engine.
  7. Turned out great.
  8. Always loved this car, nice work.
  9. Very nice.
  10. I have a nice diecast model of 356/1 the first Porsche.
  11. If you want to build an original car the Gunze kit could provide the chassis and suspension (the kit does not include a full engine).
  12. While I am at this I thought I would build up the 356A chassis as well. To Fujimi's credit they have include different parts to represent the difference in the chassis. The transmission mount on the torsion bar tube is different as well as you will see once I have it installed on the A chassis. 356A 356B The 356A hood is molded paper thin, out of the box the nose of the hood stuck up in the air. I was able to gently bend it to make the curve fit but was not confident it would retain the correct shape, in addition the fit was sloppy. I hade a spare 356B hood from a kit the US Mail managed to crush the body on. Surprisingly with a little reshaping I was able to make the B hood to fit the A body.
  13. Nice conversion.
  14. Very nice.
  15. Added spacers to widen the rear track as far as the body will allow.
  16. Looks like a great kit. Looking forward to watching you add your touch to it
  17. Fujimi offered the 1500GS, 1600GS and 2000GS engines. I don't have the 1600GS but the only difference I noticed (in kit form) between the 1500 and the 2000 was the exhaust system.
  18. Hope the information helps.
