  1. Thanks Gene & Joe. With the glass installed I should be able to mount the body onto the chassis for the final time.
  2. Sorry Bob I am not all that well versed in kit history. The (6) kits shown make up all the Super Stocker series offering to the best of my knowledge.
  3. Nice work Steve. How did you handle the number over the screen on the rear panel?
  4. As promised here is a small update. Glass is installed. If you recall I cut my own windows from clear acetate. I left the door windows open to allow a better view of the interior. Painted the window gaskets with black Sharpie. Painted the headlight bezels and installed the protective screen in the oil cooler opening.
  5. The RS3100 is also available in 1/24 scale. This is a curbside kit and would take quite a bit of work to make it into a decent replica.
  6. No Shay it is full detail. Here is a link to the instruction sheet
  7. Thanks for posting the pictures, the Capri pictures in particular. AMT made a decent Capri kit but the wheels and tires are useless. If some one would offer some suitable replacements I think this kit could be turned into something.
  8. Brilliant!
  9. A little Joseph. I finally rubbed out the paint, its not perfect but I think it will work and am in the process of installing the glass. I'll post some new photos soon. Thanks again for the great Minilite wheels and tires!
  10. Welcome Matthew. Glad to have a fellow race car modeler.
  11. For those so inclined here is a link to more information about the engine than you ever wanted to know.
  12. How do you delete PMs and/or conversations now?
  13. I really like the Revellogram Ford 289 in 1/24 scale. I think massaging it to represent an Olds 215 is the way I'll go. Thanks for all your help gentlemen!
  14. I understand this car built by Mickey Thompson for the '62 Indy 500 and driven by Dan Gurney was powered by the aluminum Olds 215. Yea I don't have a Johan Olds F85 either but the pictures I have found of the engine from that kit don't look very promising.
  15. I understand Shay that the Olds and Buick 215s are very similar and they where used by Rover, MG etc. The aluminum Olds 215 powered several different race cars in the 60's; sportscars, F1, Indy,
  16. Wondering if anyone might have a source suggestion for the Olds 215ci V8 in 1/24 scale. Not concerned about the headers or the induction system just the main engine components, block, water pump, cylinder heads and valve covers. If I can't come up with anything better I am thinking I can fudge it using a Ford 289.
  17. Check out my Fotki album on my '82 Buick build. It includes some reference photos as well as some plumbing & wiring diagrams Here is the link.
  18. This build looks even better in person. Nice work Ron.
  19. Thanks Mike (b-body fan) nice dealing with you too.
  20. Don't believe I have ever seen one of these built. Looking forward to it.
  21. Frankly I was amazed Bianchi survived the crash. His father said just the other day Jules would not have wanted to live like this so maybe it is a blessing in disguise.
  22. Very nice but be careful with your decal choices, you will upset the Earnhardt fans putting his number "3" on a Ford.
  23. Haven' tried it yet with the Petty Kit Car. It is based on the Original MPC Super Stocker. You can use the recently reissued Model King releases. The Petty kit car isn't based on the Super Stock Series kits, the kits in that series are the Mustang, a 69 Camaro, a 70 Monte Carlo, a late 60s GTO, and a Plymouth 'Cuda, these are the only ones I've seen there may be another one or two that I don't know about. The Petty Kit car chassis could be used as it's a short track style chassis. However since it was manufactured by Chrysler it would be very unlikely that anyone would hang a Mustang body on it. Here are the other cars in the Super Stocker series. To the best of my knowledge these kits have never been re-issued. Very nice build Bruce.

  25. Nice work on Burns' championship winning car.
