  4. Here is my effort to convert the Sunny kit into a FIA Roadster: And the aforementioned nose job
  5. Be-Bop Deluxe - Axe Victim is the album
  6. The Cuda is sweet - thanks for sharing. I see a Falcon Ranchero tucked in beside it.
  7. Happy to help Wayne.
  8. Great looking project.
  9. Revell produced a very nice kit of the wide body 427 in 1/24 scale both in street and racing trim, here are a few examples of the kits Fujimi also produced a 427 bodied kit in 1/24 scale, it has some nice parts but is not as accurate as the Revell, again a few examples AMT produced the narrow body 289 Cobra in 1/25 scale, a few examples nice kit, with some kit bashing and aftermarket parts you can build a pretty accurate replica Sunny/Minicraft/Academy produced a 427 bodied kit in 1/25 scale. kit is based on the AMT 289 kit, it has its good points but not accurate out of the box to build a 427 Revell has recently re-issued the Sunny/Minicraft/Academy kit I have built a few of the AMT and Sunny kits into race cars of the period Historic Racing Miniatures offers some nice Cobra resin kits both in 1/24 and 1/25 scale.
  10. Torsion spring front suspension: Here is my version, as you can see from the photos above there is room for more detail than I chose to replicate if you wish: Remove the control arm bracing and torsion bar mounts from the front of the chassis leaving a short section in-place at the front I added shims (spacers) to the lower side of the upper A arm this raises the ride height of the front suspension I added a similar thickness shim at the mounting point of the lower A arms to the frame the white plastic chassis is stock from the kit Remove the torsion bar and control arms from the stock suspension glue the torsion springs to the upper surface of the lower control arm the springs should have a slight twist The 1:1 suspension uses 2-leaf springs per side. I chose to represent the springs with a single strip of .020" (0.5mm) in lieu of two strips of .010 (0.25mm) for simplicity add mounting detail to the front and rear attachment points of the springs as you see fit my finished version
  11. Thanks Kenneth. Nice work Jose. I was able to get the longnose build on ebay for what I thought was a good price.
  12. Thanks Bob. I've gotten the chassis disassembled but haven't started stripping it yet, hope it comes out as well as the body. I promised to post info on how I did the front suspension - will do as soon as I can get photos together.
  13. The longnose body cleaned up nicely.
  14. I don't know the origin of the scale drawing on the box side panel, however it indicates the wheel base as 135" (W.B. 135") That is what the model scales out as.
  15. Another version of the kit.
  16. From what I have read A/FX Mustangs reverted to stock wheelbase length in '66. I like the Quarter Horse.
  17. I assume the Polar Lights kit is more faithful to the Gas Ronda 1:1
  18. Very nice.
  19. Nicely built model from Spotlight Hobbies message board: https://board.spotlighthobbies.com/?md=read;id=325145
  20. Does this kit represent an actual 1:1 car? Photos from eBay. More kit photos here: https://vintagepartscars.name/category/ronda/
  21. I use solid rod in lieu of tubing for my custom roll cages and headers. Liquid cement can cause the bends to fail if there is stress in the transition. Sprue glue (styrene bits + liquid glue) works nicely as weld at the joints.
