  1. I agree Bill that one was flat out deception. I have yet to buy any Dirttrack Racecar kits even though I like the subject matter. I love box art and that's what I want on the box top. I want to see built-ups of the actual model on the side/end panels as well as a list of the kits features. I really like the part trees on the bottom of the box which Round2 is doing. I would prefer however if they showed the actual parts (drawing or photo) and not just the silhouette.
  2. The Datsun (Nissan) Bluebird is interesting. Wish it was 1/24 scale.
  3. Yea - that's the Carroll Shelby figure that came in Monogram's 427 Cobra kit a few years ago.
  4. Very nice Sonny! I wish one of the kit manufacturers would release a stock RS1800 or RS2000.
  5. Thanks Sonny. They rally/raced the RS2000 in Group 1 if I am not mistaken. Would love to see a picture of your 1:1. I know the Escort has a big following as I too am a fan. I'm sure I won't get all the details exactly correct and someone will point out my error(s) but I am giving it my best effort. JC
  6. Fabricated front strut mounts.
  7. Shay/Steve, the current plan is to have the chrome surround with the blue oval emblem. I'm building a later car. Pretty sure it's going to have Eaton's Yale livery just haven't decide exactly which version. Glad you guys are following the build. Here I have fabricated the radiator support.
  8. Here I have fabricated the front strut braces for the inner fender. They should be vertical but the kit's front suspension geometry is off and I chose not to attempt to correct it.
  9. The kit provides no head light detail. It has you gluing the lenses directly to the flat surface of the grill surround. So I ordered Reji's resin trans-kit as well as the photoetch set. The resin kit provides a head lamp bucket. Strange thing is the resin part it too large to fit inside the photoetch grill so I had the make my own.
  10. If you have a picture of your 1:1 Mk2 I would love to see it Steve.
  11. Reji makes a resin kit of the RS200. Haven't seen the kit in person, just photos. It looks quite nice.
  12. Yea the Heller 907 sells for way more money than I think it is worth
  13. Check out this thread for some pictures of the Heller Porsche 907.
  14. I'm not participating but I am following. I have a Tamiya Ferrari Mythos. The kit includes a complete engine and trans-axle. Would make a great power plant for a sleeper. If anyone is interested in trading for it send me a PM.
  15. Thanks Roger. Yes I would be interested in any information you have on these wheels. There are not exactly correct but look like they may be an improvement over the kit wheel/tires.
  16. That would be a great build Shay. I would need to track down the kit however. I don't have one in the stash.
  17. I was working on these (3) Cobras at one time. Finished two of them before stalling out on the third one.
  18. They're a dream to build. But if I remember correctly the body is a very tight fit over the chassis.
  19. Some history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MsAN0ETLss
  20. There was a death during stage 3, a motorcycle rider. Tackling the Dakar on a bike is especially dangerous. Not only do you have the risk of accident but also the sheer physical exertion of the competition. Rest in peace Michal Hernik.
  21. Looks like (2) MK4s, the red and yellow cars and the one in the lower right hand corner is a Mirage.
  22. Thanks for posting this Dale. Haven't watched yet but cant wait. I hope there is some footage of the Escort RS1800
  23. Very convincing.
  24. Stage 1 in the books. Short easy stage to let the competitors shake out their machines. Gets a lot tougher today.
  25. Nice work Shay, love the color.
