Man Andy! This is looking so amazing!!

Back again!! Been quite busy on this......got the body and chassis together, suspension and ride height set, headlights and taillights in, and wraparound windsreen glued in to name a few. Thought I would go out and take some nice ambient daylight photos. Getting close to done....just needs some BMF (wish I could find some nice "Thunderbird" PE scripts!)

It drives me nuts to see the kit I need at a given point on Ebay or elsewhere going for anywhere between $80.00 to $200.00........seriously???? I don't care what kit it is.......if i need it for a subject matter, I will cut a Johan up into pieces! When it comes to shows, I think the reason alot of times we don't see much that is different is because someone is "hoarding" it on a shelf somewhere like it is made of gold or something! All I want to do is build my old 1:1 truck from 20 years back......an '81 Chevy Stepside 4x4. Got the tires/wheels.....a beautiful set of So Real Concepts Super Swampers with beadlocks which I won for Judges Choice in the Cartoons contest (which go for like $50 a set on ebay!! )....can't find a reasonably priced kit for nothing. I am not cheap, I just think that plastic shouldn't cost this much! Sorry, had to vent. Ok, I am getting down off of my saltbox now.

No biggie Ray! Just looked at your photo......the easy way to do it would be to cut it off behind the cab, then take the bed and cut it right at the second rectangle in the box side, then seam it back into the cab again. Instead of two rectangles in the side, you will only have one then. Hey.....it's only plastic right?

Those look fantastic William! Great job! LOVE the polarized look of the windshields.

This is so cool Ray! Can't wait to see which way you go next. Good call on the wood!

Thanks again to all of you following! I really appreciate your support!! Today I got the body painted.....Ok, so teal pearl with flames was not what I intended originally......nor do I want to be known as "that guy who always does flames "......but hey, sometimes you just go with it and let the build/paint "do what it wants!" .......That was the case here........the original paint color did not want to work for nothing and rather than dunk it again (4th time!!) I figured to just work with it, move forward, and voila! Besides, in the 50's flames were all the rage! It's different, but those who know me know that I love different!

Always wanted to mate the '57 T-bird and the Callaway Corvette Speedster.......just thought it was the right match. Found the body of the car in a bin full of just bodies for free at a local club meet, pieced the other parts together thru both help on this forum and on Ebay. The interior and the chassis of this build were sourced from the Callaway kit and with quite a lot of cutting and fitting the chassis and interior began to fit. The windshield also took some extensive modding to fit but in the end I think it looks pretty darn good. Adjusted the rear wing tips shorter to fit this build.......the taillights will be from my collection of LED red bulbs. The wheels are from the parts box stuffed into some old Pegasus wheels I turned into sleeves. Enjoy the 1st primer shots!

Thank you Bill. It did put up quite a fight along the way! Thanks Mike! When I saw the rough design on Google on a random "Custom" search I knew I would have to fine tune it and build it. -

Thank you friends for all the kind words and encouragement......... my biggest satisfaction in building is the reaction from people. -Ken- -

Just a concept my friend.......did not want to mess with the curves by adding my shotty attempts at door lines. It's my weak point. -
You are doing a wonderful job on this Curtis! Love your choice of colors and the Nardi emblem on the steering wheel is quite convincing!
