  1. Used Plastic Performance Products wheels, tires, and rollcage kit. Had to narrow cage since it was made to fit the AMT 63/64 Galaxies. No closeups due to fact I didn't get tubes lined up quite right. How you guys make and square up rollcages has my utmost respect! Decals where a combination of some NASCAR decals picked up at NNL show in NC and Professor Motor Roundels and numbers. Undercarraige shot. Not very accurate to real car. I think it had dual rear shocks and a modified 4 link in rear. On to the finished shots. This is the most ambushes model I've done; I'm sure it's just a small ripple in the pond of you masters. Comments and constructive criticisms welcomed.
  2. I decided to try my hand at a "darkside" NASCAR road racing car. Fairlane was an experimental testbed for unibody chassis if I read correctly over on Randy Ayer's site. I think it was the only time it ran before being shipped to Europe. First, a picture of real car. Used this Revell kit. I removed all the chrome trim from body sides of car and also removed part of front fender, oops! Removed shock towers like on racecar and put chassis tubes in engine bay.
  3. Nice pics, thanks!
  4. Love the tailgate and I drive a Honda!
  5. I really like the color combination and the wheels.
  6. James, I like your choices! I wonder how the Revell NSX compares to the Tamiya version.
  7. Sweet!!
  8. Are we seeing the good side, or does the passenger side look the same? Nice find either way!
  9. I drove a 4cyl auto in high school. Amazed I still love Mustangs after that turd.
  10. LOL! Too much drag fighting all that camber. Looks ragged, just like you planned for.
  11. Unrestored "barn finds" bring good money, especially with very low miles. I have a feeling a lot of these may be "cleaned" up and gotten in running condition but otherwise left alone. The more damaged ones may be restored or used for parts like that BB Chevelle with the crushed roof. I wonder if we will see some of these cross the auction block in the next year.
  12. Tom, looks like you have a very good friend!
  13. Awesome as usual!
  14. Enjoy! I'm sure you will have a blast! Hope to be tuned in at noon on Sunday for the race
  15. Check out this thread. Not sure what shipping would be across the pond. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75465
  16. That's a cool pinto! Never thought I'd type nor utter those words, lol.
  17. Some things from Ebay and Hobbytown. The ones without boxes are both Tamiya. 300zx with cracked windshield and Mitsu Evo. I'm going to give foil a shot on a 63 Galaxie "stock" car. If it works out like most of my stuff it will be an epic fail.
  18. The color looks great! Post it in under glass!
  19. Brandon, that is awesome for any model, much less your first!
  20. Thanks for sharing. That always looks like a cool event.
  21. I'm amazed how good that looks. May be bad assumption, but I figured those old Monogram Euro cars would have a ride height like a 4wd.
