  1. Hello all hope everyone's swell. Quick question any idea how to "tint" windows? Is there a spray paint that will do the trick? As always help is appreciated. Thank you. Regards JerseeJerry
  2. Rich Thanks. I like these snap kits. A great deal of detail for the money. I really believe once you detail them up to what you want you would be very happy with the result. Are there issues with the kits? Sure lets start with the well chronicled wheels/tires. Every kit has issues for the most part. Just ask anybody who's attempted the AMT White Freightliner Dual Drive's cab. That'd drive a sane man completely off the tracks. Jerry
  3. KW W900 has been ordered. Will finish the Pete this week. Have decided to paint the cab/hood air cleaners Testors One Coat Inca Gold and the frame/fuel tanks Testors Dark Red Enamel. Will most likely do the Sonny Pruitt KW decals. Might try some light weathering on this one. Also will look to detail the interior a bit as well.
  4. Thanks. Outside of the fire extinguisher inside decal being upside down and the fiddly stacks and the well publicized wheel/tire issues. I'm pleased with this one. The W900 Snapper has been ordered today and looking forward to building it using what I learned from the Pete. Looking to do some more to the KW than I did on the Pete. Weathering is one trick but not sure I am up to it but I do wanna try. It just may go Pete, KW, Pete, KW, etc. on my truck builds moving forward. Eventually I want the snap tites to appear as not snap tites as I learn to detail more and more. Thanks again. JerrseeJerry55
  5. Thanks a lot. The first of many of these Revell issues. When you say sidewall over the lip on the drive tires you mean the inners correct?
  6. Does Tamiya make a charcoal grey in lacquer?
  7. Okay the Pete 359 almost completed. Revell KW900 snap will be next. Have decided the frame and fuel tanks will be Testors Dark Gloss Red. Unsure about the cab and hood. Maybe a medium or dark blue? Would appreciate others input on color choice. Thanks JerseeJerry55
  8. About 90% done. Just lenses grab handles horns roof lights final detailing to go. Model Truckin responsible for the stripes.
  9. That is an awesome truck. I am doing the same but as a single drive. Quick question if I may. Did you have to put the subframe on top of the truck frame, or just cement the stake body onto the truck frame? Thanks again for posting your pictures. JerseeJerry55
  10. Thanks for showing me your build. That is an awesome build and is EXACTLY what I'd like to do to mine. If I may ask what it the frame length? And how far is the rear end of the leaf spring bracket from the rear end of the frame? Thanks again. JerseeJerry55
  11. That looks great. I have the Ford Short Hauler LN8000 I'm looking to build into a tractor. I assume the frame for the Race Car Hauler is the same as the Short Hauler? Anyways job well done. JerseeJerry55
  12. So if I wanted to convert the Short Hauler to a tractor using the supplied frame rails it wouldn't be advisable based on the frame differences? JerseeJerry55
  13. A few questions. I found resin 20" Budd 2 hole front wheels with oilers (?) on eBay. How easy is it to assemble resin wheels and attach them to the existing front axle of the LN-8000 kit? What type of glue do I use? How do I prep for painting them? Also does anybody know where I can locate rear 2 hole Budd's? AITM is out of stock. As always all help is most appreciated. Thanks. JerseeJerry55
  14. Okay the Short Hauler arrived today. Was very excited until I discovered there were 2 copies of the same instructions sheet. No instructions on building the cargo box or the tailgate. Does anyone know of a website where I can download what I need. Thanks. JJ55
  15. Good evening all Hope everyone's well. Here's what I've decided to do (I think). The LN8000 is on the way. I was thinking back to when I was a a yoot back in the mid-late 70's. Where I lived in Long Island there was a lot of truck traffic. I always remembered there was this one trucking company who delivered groceries to the local supermarket. The trucking company was called White Rose. They used LNT-8000 tractors. I'd like to build a similar work horse type tractor. Now my question is this. Should I measure off the frame the same length as let's say the Titan 90, or the Transtar 4300 and then cut it down? Or does anyone know the actual length of the Snowplow trucks frame as I'm pretty sure the frame is identical to the LNT-8000 tractor frame. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. JerseeJerry55
  16. Have ordered the kit. Should be here by next week. So here are a few questions: What is the easiest way to assemble the cargo box? Floor, sides, front, back, top? Or top, front, back, sides, floor? As suggested will use duct tape for the rear door. Also I would like to do my own decals. Would anyone have suggestions for an online decal maker? I know there is decal paper out there but I currently don't own a laser or an inkjet printer. Help as always is appreciated. JerseeJerry55
  17. I will do the box truck first. Then if that comes out okay I will attempt doing another one as a tandem tractor using either the Titan 90 or Transtar 4300 rear suspension as the donor. Or could I use either's frame and add the 8000's cab? Jerry
  18. Just a quick question. Is the frame that much longer than the Dump Truck frame?
  19. Just sent PM. BTW have always loved those 1970's LN/LNTs. Ever since my friends brother built the original AMT dual drive tractor ( if I remember correctly it had McLean Trucking decals ), and saw White Line Fever and that LNT was chasing the Blue Mule. I was hooked on the Louisville series. Thanks again. JerseeJerry
  20. That's a real nice example of the LN8000. If I wanted to do the hinge could styrene tubing be used along with the brass rod? I wish I could do work like yours.
