  1. 50 years later, still a great kit. Nice work.
  2. This 84 Olds 442 looks pretty good to me already. The '81-88 Cutlass Supremes were great looking cars. I might buy one extra to attach the 1/25 MPC Grand Prix Southern stocker parts on this 442. And voila, an '84 GP.
  3. Theoretically, The '29 Ford A Double kit has all the parts. Most of the reduced parts '70s kits were a function of AMT cutting costs and blocking items. Eliminating clear red tail lights is another thing they did.
  4. You might consider installing the rear quarter windows. They don't roll down, but flip out. One of the econo-features of that car. The car is beautiful with that paint,
  5. I wasn't saying that Round2 wouldn't run them if they had the '58 tools, I meant that the chances are extremely slim they still exist. Some may remember the 1958 Edsel funny car UNREAL. Originally listed in the Autoworld catalog (1967-8) as stock at $2.00. Then it arrives as a funny car at $1.50. I sent the money for the stock version and couldn't believe how it turned out. So, we know what happened to the Edsel. After that experience, I bet they scrapped the rest after finding the Edsel was their only seller. I am guessing at some point AMT took some of these 58 Tools to a trade show, or customers fro a reaction in the late 60s with no takers. It is funny that all the Craftsman and Junior kits had only 1959 and later cars. The collector market didn't exist in 1968 which today might have saved the tools.
  6. Looks really nice. The forgotten Camaros.
  7. Dave Van, I am with you. I would buy 2 each for sure. But since none of them have surfaced in the last 58 years, I am resigned to believe that they never will. The '59 Imperial was probably the '58 updated?
  8. Pigs will fly before Round2 re-releases all the 1958 3in1 kits. Even in 1964, AMT redesigned the 1958 Impala kit. Nobody really wants those simple 20 part kits, though they resuscitated the '59 Imperial recently (it was missing parts). Maybe they got lucky finding the Imperial. I doubt the others still exist.
  9. Where is this Round2 new releases found? I have gone to round2 and the web but the above photo is not there.
  10. Great idea on removing the exhaust from the frame. I have done the same on interior tubs.
  11. Jaydar, Since 1/8 is pretty small, you can probably shape some clear red plastic to make a tail light.
  12. Remember this 1967 kit was a promotional model first, modified to a kit. It had separate exhaust and that was a bonus compared to other kits that year. I am not sure any of the reissue MPC 67 GTOs had the correct seats. Modelhaus has them for sure. One of my 1980s reissue was totally destroyed by those tires flopping around in the box. Almost every piece has a burn mark. I think the MPC 67 body can be massaged to be a decent build despite some problems.
  13. The gold stripe tires are typical of 1965-1967. A nice touch. Round2 has done a nice job keeping the AMT/MPC flame burning. I am impressed that they reintroduced missing parts in the old kits. The 58 Chevy has been pretty much complete over the years though.
  14. There are tons of '49 Ford kits on the secondary markets. No problem finding one. Inexpensive too. Except for the recent issues with plastic front axles, glass a little different and different custom wheels/tires, all issues are virtually the same.
  15. Great job on the chop
  16. I think the chances that the Duke's Charger returns is nil. Not because of a license problem, but because you can sell only so many. A lot still on the shelves. It is possible maybe the Charger 500 or something may return.
  17. The Revell '59 (now referred to as '60) has the best body shape. The multi-piece body actually makes molding a truer body easier. The chassis is not as good as the MPC. Maybe you can match them together?
  18. Since you are allowed a specific bandwidth, it is a good idea to delete old photos that are too big. I had too many big photos and couldn't post anymore in the forum.
  19. I have that casting too. I was wondering how it might turn out. If you watch VERTIGO with Jimmy Stewart, you will see a '58 sedan delivery in one of the San Franciso street scenes.
  20. If you twist them, you can enlarge the radius. Maybe springs from the hardware store too? I am guessing they have to be available some place.
  21. Looks great. You would never know it was resin after you got done with it.
  22. Now we know why the MPC 1970-1974 Challenger will never come back.
  23. How about ball point pen springs?
