It's better to paint the light color(white) first, then the dark(red). It prevents the red bleeding through the white. You can make stencils with the decals onto blue painters tape, or find different paint. It is a pain to find matching paint right off the bat, but you might get lucky. Sounds like you're off to a great start! Looking forward to seeing pictures when you get a chance!!!

I just bought the Revell snap Pete. I'm seriously thinking about it. I just need to find someone who makes the correct sleeper in resin(too expensive to buy a Italeri 377 just for the sleeper), and find the roof cap. The hood wouldn't be too hard to modify(famous last words...). I'll let you know whats up.

The cab work looks really good. Are you going to fill in the sidebox opening, or keep it? And are you going to do a smooth look, or add rivet details? I went for the smooth look with the extra sidebox filled in.

It would be somewhat easy to build the first truck I ever drove for Werner. It was a '99 379 Peterbilt. I miss driving those...
